Chapter 53 - I did something bad

Lunaya.

I walked over to where he sat and perched myself on the trunk beside him. He didn’t greet me or acknowledge my arrival. I sat quietly and watched him from the corner of my eye. The lights from the clearing shone on his face, highlighting the sharp angles of his jaw and nose. But still, the shadows made the dips of his face accentuate the shallow and gloominess. Though he is a handsome man, his eyes hold so much darkness. After a while, once I realised he was not going to speak first, I broke the silence.

“You didn’t tell them” I spoke, looking back to the village.

“Tell them what?” he answered, sounding uninterested.

“About who I said I was here for”

“It’s not my story to tell” he said leaning back and crossing his arms over his chest.

“You know it’s not a story though, I can tell that you believe me” I said, now looking at him.
