Chapter 87. Convincing the Grandfather

"Conditions? What conditions?" asked Mr. Wilson, confused; he looked at his grandson, barely blinking, as did Mr. Carter; he had expected the possibility that Nathan would not be willing, even if he wanted to, it would be because he had to because Nathan really could not refuse his grandfather's request.

Nathan reached for the glass and took a sip of his drink; he sighed and then looked at his grandfather and Mr. Carter in turn.

"If you want me to train your grandson, some conditions must not be violated," Nathan said as he looked directly at Mr. Carter.

"First, Bob must listen to my words, whatever I say. Remember, I don't like to be contradicted," said Nathan.

"Secondly?" asked Mr. Carter.

"Secondly, he must be disciplined, strong-willed, determined, and not complain." Nathan paused for a moment; he looked straight at Mr. Carter, who was listening to him.
