The hustling bustling of crowd was at peak as soon the morning came. They say Mumbai never sleeps which is not wrong.
The labourers started doing hardwork to earn enough to fill their stomach. The students were rushing to reach their schools.
Working men and women were on the way to their work places. Everyone is behind money, because obviously 'Money can buy you anything'.
A hot brewing sip of coffee brought some relief to his sore throat. He was watching the busy roads through the big glass in his cabin.
His face was void of any emotions as usual. A little boy caught his eyes who was crying as he tripped over something.
A frown appeared on his face seeing the crying face of the little boy.
Pathetic.
He muttered turning away from the glass. Placing the empty mug on coffee table, he sat on his chair. Soon the furious sound of typing filled the silent room.
The movement of his fingers stopped as a knocking sound was heard. Answering a quick come in, he diverted his attention back on his work.
A petite girl started taking slow steps in his direction with a file in her hands. Her heartbeat was fast while she was already sweating profusely.
"S-sir yo-our file" she stuttered forwarding the file towards him. Her breathening was uneven but she was somewhat relieved as he was still looking at his laptop's screen.
Without moving his eyes, he took the file from her and read it. His face was holding a calm expression.
The girl sighed in relief and was about to ask for leave when his words shocked her.
"You are fired" he closed the file and slammed it on the table making her flinch.
Now his whole focus was on the shaking figure in front of him.
"So-orr-ry s-sir...I..I wi-il.."
"What did I say?" He asked patiently, no hint of anger was evident on his face. Still she was about to pee in her pants.
"Si-ir..pl-le.."
"What.did.I.say?" He asked again in a stern tone emphasizing on each word.
"I..I am f-fir-red" tears blurred her vision and a sob left her throat.
"Now get out" he declared moving his eyes back to the laptop.
The girl knew that now there was no point in begging.
Arjun Khanna never changes his decisions. If he doesn't want someone, the person won't be able to even look at his face. If he wants someone, the person won't be able to hide anywhere in this whole world.
.
..."Sir, I have selected few event organisers" Nitin, Arjun's P.A. spoke taking out his phone to tell him the names.
"I want the best" Arjun declared massaging his throbbing temples.
"I know, Sir" his voice fell as sudden terror of not being able to satisfy his boss took over him.
"Call the best among them and ask them to meet me tomorrow" Arjun ordered standing from his chair and taking out his blazer.
"Ok sir" with a curt nod, Nitin went outside. A long sigh of relief left his lips the moment he came out of the cabin which is more like a lion's den.
He was happy that now he would be able to go home far away from this cold hearted man who made him work till 11:30 pm.
The clanking of boots filled the silent building as Arjun made his way towards the lift. He was the last one leaving the office as always.
Work is his priority, not because he is one the of most richest businessman in this world. No, it's because he has no one who will wait for him at the mansion.
He has money, luxury everything. Except for the person with whom he could share them.
But it doesn't bother him anymore. He has been like this since childhood. No one was there for him when he used to cry at nights due to bad dreams. No one was there to attend the parents teachers meetings in his school.
He is enough for himself. More than enough...
.
....She looked at her phone screen still unable to comprehend the words she just heard. She felt like pinching herself to check whether it is reality or just one of her dreams.
Does Arjun Khanna really want me to organise his event?
The Arjun Khanna...
A squealing sound escaped her lips as she started jumping on her bed. Suddenly realisation hit her and she covered her mouth with her palms.
Mumma will kill me...it's 5:00 am for god's sake.
The sleep was no where in her eyes as it was few minutes ago.
Arjun's P.A. called her early in the morning and asked her to show herself in Arjun's office to discuss about the event.
In her three years of event organising career, this is the biggest opportunity she has got.
The firm in which she is working, her boss recommended her name as the best organiser of his firm.
Nitin didn't think twice before calling her and asking her to come over as he didn't want to make Arjun wait or give him a chance to complain.
Removing the warm blanket from her body, she ran inside the washroom to get ready. She was excited but soon it turned into nervousness and then into fear.
The news and gossips she heard about Arjun weren't doing any help.
The whole Maharashtra respect him and fear him as well. The power he holds is just unexplainable.
Standing in front of the mirror in her bathrobe, she tried to think positively but in vain.
Pushing aside all those negative thoughts, she quickly changed into a simple yellow churidar suit and started dabbing her wet hair with the towel.
Once done with her hair, she applied light moisturiser on her face as it was pretty hot out there. She likes makeup but doesn't like wearing it everywhere. The one thing she never forgets before going outside is applying kajal (kohl) in her eyes.
Taking out her purse from the cupboard and phone from the charging point, she made her way outside her room.
The sweet smell of her favouraite dessert welcomed her as she entered inside the kitchen.
A big smile appeared on her face looking at the gajar ka halwa. Giving her mother a big hug from behind she started thanking her repeatedly.
Namisha, her mother laughed at her daughter's antics and kissed her cheeks.
"Maa, I have a good news" she exclaimed turning her mother to face her. Namisha's brows scrunched in confusion looking at her excited face.
"What?" She asked clueleslly.
"I have a meeting in few hours regarding an event with..." She took a deep breath before speaking his name "Arjun Khanna"...
Namisha's eyes widened in suprise and a big grin appeared on her lips.
After all her daughter was going to work for The Arjun Khanna, the famous billionaire.
But soon her happiness turned into something else as her face fell. The rumours of the famous billionaire rang in her ears.
How rude and cruel he is. How he can destroy anyone's life in just a flicker of his fingers.
Indeed he is great business man and has reached on this spot without having anyone's back but still she was scared for her daughter as Saanvi is a clumsy girl.
"I know Mumma you are scared" Saanvi said holding Namisha's hands giving them an assuring squeeze, "but trust your daughter pleaseee" Namisha chuckled seeing her daughter's over acting.
Though Saanvi tried to convince herself that everything will go fine but deep down she was nervous and scared.
Facing Arjun for the first time is going to be really tough for her.
The way media has portrayed his image, it was making her more anxious. However, she trusts herself and she is sure that she won't disappoint Arjun.
She hurried towards the hall and took blessing from her father, whose photo was framed on the wall with a garland over it.
Her father died when she was 12 and since then she and Namisha are the support system of each other. They never felt the need of a man to protect them.
Like every other girls, her father too was her superhero and she did went into depression for few months after his death but then collected her pieces as she needed to support her mother.
"Breakfast is ready" Namisha shouted from the kitchen as Saanvi wiped a lone tear which managed to escape through her eye.
She still feels the voidness inside her. Her father's absence still stabs her heart but life must go on.
With this thought, she sat on the chair to have a peaceful morning breakfast with her mother who is also her best friend.
"Call me when you get free" Namisha said kissing Saanvi's cheeks as she bent down to take her blessings.
"Ok, Maa" she replied sitting on her scooty and went away after waving her goodbye.
*********
Her eyes were wide and mouth fell agape looking at the building in front of her. The sun was as usual shining brightly making her sweat as summer was on it's peak.
Wiping her forehead with the handkerchief, she entered inside after showing the guard her ID.
People were working silently on the first floor, only the sounds of typing was filling the room.
She spotted the receptionist who was talking to someone over the call in soft voice which was barely audible to Saanvi.
"Umm..hello!" Saanvi said reaching the reception. The receptionist gave her a warm smile.
"Yes?" She asked looking at the girl's attire which suprised her as mostly girls come here wearing stylish western clothes.
"I am Saanvi Agarwal. I have a meeting with Mr. Khanna" she introduced herself and told her the reason for which she came here.
The receptionist gave her a nod and talked to someone over the call shortly.
"He will lead you the way, Mam" the receptionist said gesturing towards a middle aged man who came and stood beside Saanvi. He was wearing a navy blue shirt and white pants.
Saanvi gave the receptionist a small smile and thanked her before going towards the direction where the man went.
They entered inside the lift and the man clicked on the 40th floor. A comfortable silence fell between them before she decided to break it.
"I am Saanvi Agarwal, an event organiser" she introduced herself forwarding her hand for a handshake.
"Ravi Verma, Mr. Khanna's secretary" he took her hand and gave her his introduction.
For once she thought about asking him about Arjun and his actual behaviour but scolded herself for even thinking about something so childish and stupid.
He will definitely kick you out, Saanvi.
She thought looking at Ravi who was tapping his foot impatiently on the floor.
The lift opened with a ding after few minutes making her exhale a sharp breath.
Her hands became clammy and her heart started thudding wildly inside her chest. A weird feeling formed in the pit of her stomach.
"This way please" Ravi guided her towards a room which was Arjun's cabin.
"He is waiting for you inside" Saanvi smiled nodding at him and hesitantly knocked on the door.
"Come in" a voice came from inside which she thought is Arjun's voice. Ravi gave her a thumbs up before leaving.
She entered inside and the first thing she noticed inside the cabin was the big glass which was showing the bright sky and tall buildings outside.
A throat clearing sound broke her trance making her slightly jump on her spot. She quickly turned towards the sound and found Arjun leaning back on his chair staring at her intently.
Saanvi bit her lip in embarassment and gave him a nervous smile.
"Hello, Mr. Khanna" he nodded at her and gestured her to sit on the chair in front of him.
He was clad in a black suit, his hair was perfectly set with the gel while light stubble were on his cheek and chin giving him more handsome look.
Indeed, he is a handsome man with looks of a greek god. Saanvi admired him and his looks in her mind as she sat in front of him.
"Hello, Miss Agarwal" she smiled lightly at his greeting.
"I heard a lot about you" he stated making her blush and nervous at the same time.
"I hope all the good things?" She asked smiling nervously and he nodded making her sigh inwardly in relief.
"I want you to organise a product launch event of my company" without delaying further, he came to the main point.
"I would love to, Sir but.." he raised his one brow at her as she stopped in mid sentence, "I want you to get sure about me organising your event. I mean I.."
"I am sure, Miss Agarwal" he exclaimed interrupting her before she could finish her sentence.
Tucking a strand of hair behind her ear, she looked at him to find him already looking at her. His eyes were watching and calculating her every move making her feel more intimidated by him.
"Okay" she agreed to organise his event as this was indeed a great opportunity for her.
"My P.A. will send you the required details and yes..the event should be on 21st of May" she nodded her head counting the days left inside her mind.
She has one whole week to organise the event which is more than enough for her.
"Okay, Sir thanks" she didn't know what else she should say so she thanked him.
"Have a good day" she got the hint that it was time to leave and did a small victory dance mentally.
"You too" they both were now standing in front of each other and his height was again intimidating her.
"It was nice meeting you" though she just wanted to run away, but couldn't forget the basic manners and forwarded her hand towards him.
"Likewise" he muttered shaking her hand with his.
Even his hand was much bigger than hers. Giving him a last nod, she went outside his cabin.
She jumped in excitement once came outside. Her happiness knew no bound. She nerver imagined this meeting to go this smooth but she wasn't complaining.
This will be a turning point in my life.
She wondered thinking about her future in which this event will play a big part. She will indeed become famous if this event goes as she has planned without any mistakes.
Thanking her god and her father, she went inside the lift with a happy face....
So, here's the first chapter. Do vote and comment.
A long pleasurable sigh left her lips as the cold wind touched her face. A storm was surely about to hit the city. The leaves of the large trees were swaying along with the breeze. It was really hot since morning and people like her, who cannot afford air conditioners. Monsoon is a blessing for them but it also makes their lives difficult as it brings so many disadvantages with it. Saanvi freed her hair from the clutcher and let them fall on her shoulders and back. The sweat droplets which were prominent on her forehead and chin vanished. "Maa, come na" she shouted from her room. Namisha was washing the dishes. Though Saanvi had opened the windows of dinning hall and kitchen but her room was literally feeling like heaven so she wanted Namisha to join her as she knew her mother must be sweating as hell by now. A sad frown appeared on her face thinking about her mother's situation. They have lived their lives in adding money and spending them only on the things which were needed the
Saanvi laid back on her seat and heaved a sigh of relief as the cool atmosphere welcomed her. The sun was again shining brightly as the rays fell on the car window but couldn't reach her as the glasses were black and were resisting the heat. Initially, when Arjun messaged her that he is sending his car. She wanted to deny but decided against it as her scooty got some major defect yesterday. She surely was feeling nervous as she didn't know why he himself had messaged her. He has already told her that Nitin will give her further details and will help her in deciding the arrangements, if needed. However, she was also excited to meet him as he has been her inspiration. He is a cold hearted businessman, as people say but the empire he has created without any support is worth every praise. The cool air coming from A.C. brought much relief to her soul. It was her first time sitting in an expensive car. Though, she still prefered her scooty over someone else's car, but was liking it too.
"How are you, Miss. Aggarwal?" His focus was now on Saanvi."I am good, Sir. You?" She replied politely trying hard to not let the bitterness she just felt reach her tongue."Good" he said gesturing with his hand for her to go inside. They both started walking towards the hotel whereas Nitin busied himself on a call."I want you to decorate those flowers inside the hall as well" Saanvi got a bit confused at his words. He could have said it on the phone. And flowers inside the hall? In a product launch event? His eyes were transfixed on the flowers that were kept inside the basket at the table. Saanvi was going to start the work by today itself and eventually he too came here."Sure sir" though she found this idea quite tempting and new.Let's try this.He nodded at her and leaned on the wall looking at his phone.Saanvi tied her hair in a bun and soon the staff members joined her."Leave it. These are flowers not stones" she scolded a young boy who was decorating the flowers on the wa
The loud clapping sounds resonated in the hall. Arjun was sitting on the stage with few other business associates. People were looking at him with admiring eyes, however, some of them were looking at him with envy. He has achieved so much in this young age and they are not even close to his success.Indeed, he has climbed a long ladder of difficulties which gave him all the success he has today.Saanvi was happy as well, the event was going well by now. The guests seemed impressed with Arjun's product and the way he portrayed his product in front of them was quite impressive and convincing. The guests started having their meal as it was 9:30 already. They enjoyed the snacks and beverages as well. Her stomach was grumbling loudly, though she didn't eat anything but had two glasses of soft drink which didn't do much help. The guests started bidding their adieu to Arjun after half an hour. She checked the time and it was almost ten. She was talking to the caterer when she felt a presenc
A big grin was plastered on Saanvi's face as she entered inside her house. Namisha giggled seeing the happiness on her daughter's face. A sense of relief, she felt after witnessing her smiling face."So the event went well?"she questioned or more like stated while giving a glass of chilled water to her daughter."Ahhhh" Saanvi sighed as the cool liquid cascaded down her throat which was parched, "It went perfectly well, Maa. Mr. Khanna was really happy and he appreciated my work as well" Saanvi said making Namisha smile."See, I told you already" Saanvi nodded freeing her hair to let them fall on her back and shoulder."Mr. Khanna dropped me himself" Saanvi stated and Namisha's face fell a bit, "he didn't want us to travel alone at this time. So, Aaliya went with Nitin and I came with Mr. Khanna" she explained further."Oh..." Namisha went silent suddenly making her daughter confused."What happened? Maa?" She shook her mother's shoulder to gain her attention as she was staring at the
His heart was thumping wildly inside his chest. The anticipation was killing him. The wait was killing him.The time seemed to pass slowly, more than necessary. Or maybe, he wanted it to pass quickly, more than necessary. The black glass table was occupied with coffee mugs rather than his files. She wasn't late but his heart was dying to have a look at her.Arjun's heart skipped a beat when he heard a soft knock on the door. Quickly straightening his posture, he said a quick come in.A gush of fresh air entered as she stepped inside his cabin. The fresh air was brought by Saanvi only.He gulped as he took her in. The red sleevless top didn't fail to show her smooth arms. The red tint on her lips woke something inside him.He started feeling...aroused."Hello, Mr. Khanna" her sweet voice forced him to come out of his world as he cleared his throat and put a smile on his face. Her big eyes again stopped him to say anything as he found himself drowning in them. Anyhow, he controlled his
The windchime made a sweet soothing sound making a smile appear on Saanvi's face as she stepped out of the washroom. Throwing the towel on the bed, she walked towards the window. The grey clouds welcomed her as she took in the outside view. The clouds were dancing in the sky, the breeze was a bit stormy yet calming. The windchime shook again, this time making a loud sweet sound. Saanvi's smile brightened as she touched the wooden chimes. It was a new day and a bright one indeed.Inauguration of Khanna Event Management Firm. She was beyond happy. She was feeling a bit uneasy in her tummy, which isn't new at all. She always feels this way whenever she is anxious or over excited. The mixture of anxiety and excitement doesn't set well with her.Looking at the clock, she palmed her face and started taking out her clothes from the wardrobe. She wasn't late but wanted to be there on time.Changing into a cream shirt with high waisted jeans, she looked up at herself in the mirror. She tied h
"Enjoying yourself?" He asked tugging his hands inside the pocket. His muscles flexed in the process."Yes, Sir. This firm is...it's really exquisite" Saanvi replied, she wanted to see the whole building but no one went to upper floors yet. Not even Arjun, so how could she?"Wanna see more?" Arjun's question suprised her but the anticipation was killing her so she nodded quickly."Let's go" Arjun mumbled gesturing with his hand for her to walk firstly.Saanvi fidgeted with her fingers as the situation got a bit awkward. They both were inside the lift and the silence was making things awkward. The soft music was playing inside the lift calming the atmosphere a bit. Arjun glanced at her and a smirk appeared on his lips. She was looking nervous like a kitten. Her fingers were entangled and she was continuously biting her lips, tempting him to do the honour. He tapped his foot impatiently and clenched his fist to control the emotions. He could feel the growing bulge inside his pant. How b
