Amy replied helplessly, “You never asked before, so I didn’t mention it. But I do know some medical techniques.” After some consideration, she thought it was best to be humble about her skills. With that said, her incredibly skilled master had taught her a lot. She could handle common ailments without issue.

Nolan furrowed his brows in skepticism. “How much is ‘some’? Miss Green, I can’t take risks with Mr. Lewis’s life—”

Before he could finish, Amy interrupted him. “It would be too late by the time he gets to the hospital. His condition is deteriorating rapidly, and he could be on the brink of death. The nearest hospital is a half-hour drive from here. Moving him now could put him in grave danger.”

Realizing that Amy had a point, Linda appeared solemn. “What do we do now?

“Can you treat him, Miss Green? This is very serious.”
