Chapter 14

Elias was shameless, and it seemed like he was going to actually kiss her.

Jeanette panicked and reached out her hand to cover Elias’s mouth.

“Elias, if you keep acting like this, I’ll never talk to you again!” Jeanette’s face was cold and serious.

Elias’s seriousness returned, but he looked like it was a pity that he could not do it.

At that moment, the elevator door opened, and he walked in with Jeanette in his arms.

He sighed and confessed. “Jeanette, how can you dislike my kisses? I really do like you.” He appeared dissolute, but his charming eyes betrayed how dead serious he was.

Jeanette snorted and did not take his words seriously at all. She simply struggled and said, “Let me down!”

Elias compromised and said, “Fine. I’ll let you down once we get to the clinic. I promise!”

Jeanette could not break free anyway, so she could only give up and warn him sombrely. “You’d better keep your promise. Otherwise, I’ll never talk to you ever again!”

Elias glanced at her helplessly. “Have I ever broken a promise?”

For a second, Jeanette actually could not remember any lies Elias had ever said before. However, given what the playboy had just done to her a moment ago, she felt like she could not really trust him. As such, she just snorted in response.

The elevator door dinged and opened.

Elias carried her and walked to the ward.

Unfortunately, they did not realize that someone had been following behind them. When the door to the clinic closed, Sylvia appeared from the corner. She looked at the photos of them on her phone—they looked intimate!

She scolded in disgust, “I didn’t expect Jeanette Leighton to hook up with another man!”

Madison had a naive expression, and it seemed like she was speaking up for Jeanette. “Ma’am, you may have misunderstood. That man is just her friend. They were childhood sweethearts and have been close since they were young.”

Sylvia was sharp and immediately caught on to the key point of what Madison had just said. “Childhood sweethearts? So, they’ve been together since a long time ago?”

Madison wanted to cover up her mistake but only made it worse. She said, “No, no. They’re just friends...”

Sylvia frowned and said in disgust, “Are normal friends that close? I think there’s obviously something shady going on between the two of them!”

‘Maybe that mean woman cheated on my son! What a shameless woman! I must expose her in front of my son so that they’ll get a divorce and make room for my grandson,’ thought Sylvia.

She waved her hand and said to Madison, “Well, you should head back now.”

When Madison heard those words, her eyes immediately turned red, and she said aggrievedly, “Ma’am, I can’t go back. If my dad finds out that I got pregnant while still unmarried and that the child is my brother-in-law’s, he’s going to force me to get an abortion!”

Sylvia immediately replied, “How could that be! This is the child of the Godfrey family!”

Madison just cried and said nothing.

Sylvia thought about it and said, “If that’s the case, you can go live at your sister’s house. Just tell her that it was me who asked her to take good care of you. If she ever dares to mistreat you, you can tell me. I have your back!”

Madison wanted to live in the Fairview Manor initially, but if she lived in Jeanette’s house, she would be able to torture her. It was also what she wanted, so she obediently nodded and agreed. “Thank you, Ma’am.”

Sylvia nodded. “After you move in, help me keep an eye on that woman as well and see if she has any form of relationship with other men. If there is, inform me. Do you get what I mean?”

Madison certainly understood and quickly agreed.

After leaving, Sylvia immediately selected the photos in her phone to send them to Damon.
