"What are you doing here?" Cole angrily asked me.
"I'm dancing," I said in an annoyed tone.
"Go home." He demanded and I frowned at him.
"No, why should I go? I have every right to be here." I argued and Cole snapped at me.
"Liv, I'm not playing get out of here." He said so I angrily walked away from them.
As soon as I reached the parking lot the music stopped and a few cheers and screams came from inside the gym.
I couldn't find Jade and her phone was on voicemail so I started walking home.
This should be fun.
The further I walked away from school the darker it got. I rubbed my hands against the freezing skin on my arms in an attempt to warm myself up.
"Liv?" I suddenly heard Cole's voice from beside me. I looked to my side and found his car slowly driving next to me.
"Are you gonna scold me some more?" I asked him and there was silence between us.
"No." He replied softly. The car's engine died and Cole stepped out of the vehicle. "God you're freezing." He said before taking his jacket off and placing it around my shoulders.
"Why are you like this?" I asked him and he frowned deeply.
"Like what?" He asked me in confusion.
"You don't want me doing anything except for what you tell me to," I said and he ran his hand through his hair.
"Just get in the car." He said through a clenched jaw.
"Why does what I do matter so much to you?" I wildly asked him and he slammed his hand against the car behind me and he caged me in. He looked down at me with a scowl on his face.
"Because I care about you." He said in frustration and his face was mere inches from mine. His minty breath hit my nostrils and I nervously gulped at his closeness.
Cole slowly removed his hands from the car and his facial expression softened.
"Just get in the car." He said for the last time so I obeyed him by getting into the passenger seat of his car.
The rest of our ride home was quiet. I stared out of the window while my head rested against the car door.
Late-night car rides are so nostalgic. It's beautiful. I looked over at Cole who seemed to be focused on the road.
My eyes ran over his clenched jaw before I looked at his long eyelashes. He has a perfectly pointed nose and the pinkest lips I've ever seen on a boy.
Cole's kinda ho-
"What are you doing?" He suddenly asked me and I sat upright in my seat before staring at the road.
What am I doing?
"Nothing there's something on your cheek." I lied.
"Can you get it?" He asked me and I gulped nervously.
"Sure," I said before leaning over to gently rub his cheek with my thumb. "There," I said softly and he smiled briefly.
"Thanks." He said before he started tapping the steering wheel along with the song playing on the radio.
I pried my eyes from his face and placed my head against the car door once more. I continued to stare at the stars for the rest of the ride home and when we parked in our driveway I grabbed my things before climbing out of the car. I fished my keys out of my purse before unlocking the door and entering our house.
I went upstairs to my room and quickly undressed before pulling an oversized t-shirt over my head. I pulled my hair into a messy bun on my head before going to the bathroom.
I heard voices coming from inside so I frowned deeply. I knocked on the door but nobody answered so I pushed the door open in a swift movement and found Cole making out with some blonde girl.
Where did she even come from?
They froze when they saw me and I looked at them in disbelief before I closed the bathroom door.
I went down to the kitchen to grab myself a glass of milk and ignored the footsteps coming down the stairs while taking a sip from my glass.
I silently watched Cole show the girl out before closing the door behind her. I quickly looked down at my glass before placing the milk carton back into the refrigerator.
"Liv?" Cole called me but I ignored him.
"Liv?" He called again so I looked over at him
"I'm sorry." He said softly and I frowned at him.
"Why do you get to make out with everyone at school but when I do it-"
"Because they're only after one thing." He said in frustration and I frowned deeply.
"Is that the same thing you were after with that girl?" I asked him and he briefly closed his eyes.
"What do you want me to say? I have needs, Liv." He replied and I looked at him as if he was an alien. He looked at my shirt before his eyes stopped on my legs and my cheeks turned red. I scoffed before running a hand through my hair.
"Cause girls don't have needs at all," I said before grabbing my glass of milk and leaving the kitchen.
"That's not what I meant." He yelled after me.
I went back upstairs to my room and closed the door behind me. I climbed under my bedsheets and stared up at the ceiling.
So, today I realized that most boys are dicks. My crush likes me and my stepbrother is incredibly hot. A little possessive and overprotective but he's still hot.
Is that weird? I mean it's not like I have feelings for him, I just think he's very attractive...
I sighed before switching my lamp off and lying on my back and falling asleep that way.
~
The next morning I woke up to the sound of my alarm. I slowly got out of bed before grabbing my phone and toiletry bag. I sleepily walked down the hallway and stopped in front of the closed bathroom door.
I lazily knocked on the door but there was silence. I heard the shower running so I sighed tiredly. I remembered that I had forgotten my towel so I quickly went back to my room to grab it. When I was done in my room I went back to the bathroom door and knocked once more. The door swung open and Cole came walking out with a towel wrapped around his waist.
The smell of his body wash hit my nose and I gulped at the drops of water running down his v-line. I looked up to his face and he was already smiling down at me.
"Are you still mad at me?" He asked me and I shrugged before walking past him. I closed the bathroom door behind me before undressing and getting in the shower.
That was intense.
When I was done in the bathroom I went back to my room. I opened my closet and decided to wear a short black leather skirt paired with a light pink button-up shirt. I pulled on my black high heels before going to stand in front of the mirror and pulling my hair into a neat bun on my head. Then I applied my day cream to my face. I don't like to wear make-up to school.
I briefly looked at my watch before grabbing my phone and backpack. I went downstairs and found Cole eating a slice of toast.
His eyes shot up at me before they roamed my body. He just silently ran a hand through his dark brown hair.
He placed his toast on the countertop before grabbing his keys and heading outside. I frowned before grabbing an apple for myself.
We drove to school in silence. Cole parked the car before jumping out and I followed suit before grabbing my backpack from the backseat.
We walked over to the school building and everyone stared at us. I frowned before looking back down to my phone.
Why are people staring at us like that? I looked over at Cole who seemed perfectly fine with it.
"What's going on?" I asked him and he shrugged.
"I had to clean up your mess last night. Again." He replied blankly.
"What does that mean?" I asked him and he shrugged before he parted ways with me.
Cole's POV. I went over to my locker and opened it before taking my books out for the first three periods. I shut my locker when I was done and walked down the hallway. "Yo, Cole!" I heard Griff calling from behind me. "That fight last night was fire." He said with a smile on his face and I just shook my head at him. "Where is Tyler?" I asked curiously and Griff shrugged. "So he's trying to get with, Liv?" Griff asked me and I just blankly looked at him. "Then he deserved it." "What's up, Cole, Griff," Shane asked as he started walking down the hall with us. "Sup," I said briefly. "I heard you hooked up with Stacy last night," Shane said and I just shrugged. "How was she?" Griff asked me and I smirked briefly. "Too easy," I said and they laughed at my words. "No shit," Shane said through his chuckles. And I couldn't help but smile as we walked out of the school building. We walked across the grass and went to sit at a table there. Every single girl that walked past us smi
"So he got into a fight with Tyler because of me?" I asked Mara our school's journalist and she just nodded her head at me. "See you in trig, Liv." She said before she walked away from me. What the fuck? So he beat up two guys for vibing with me. That could only mean one thing. Cole has some serious anger issues. I went into Mrs. Beck's class for my admin period. I took a seat at her desk because we're practically best friends. "Hey, Livvy." She said before she sat down at her desk. "Hey, Martha," I said tiredly and she frowned at me. "I know that face. What's wrong?" She asked and I placed my head on the desk. "Cole," I whined before sitting upright again. "Your hot brother? How could something so right possibly be wrong?" She asked me and I rolled my eyes at her. "Well he is annoying and he drives me up the walls," I said before groaning. "Okay, Godzilla. I'm gonna send you to Mr. Pierce so that you can blow off some steam." She said with a smile on her face. "That dude
After school I went to Cole's car and stood in front of it. I turned around and rested my elbows on the warm metal and leaned against it. I silently scrolled through my feed before I heard footsteps behind me. I turned around in a swift movement and found Cole looking at me. "Are you okay?" I asked and he shook his head at me. "Yeah, I'm fine." He replied quickly. He's acting weird. He unlocked the car and I instantly climbed inside. "The senior party is tonight at our house," Cole said nonchalantly and I frowned deeply. "You should have a sleepover with Jade or something." He said before smirking at me. "First of all, we're not allowed to have parties, second of all if you're going then I'm going," I said cheekily and he flared his nostrils. "Then you're not allowed to make out with anyone." He replied smugly and I closed my eyes for a long while. "Oh because you'll beat them up if I do?" I asked and he ran a hand through his hair. "Nice skirt." He said and I felt my cheeks
I placed my arms around his neck before placing my lips against his. And he hugged my waist while he slowly started kissing me back. Cole picked me up and my legs circled his torso. I lost myself in our passionate kiss when my back hit the wall and I felt Cole's erection pressing against my lower region. I felt my cheeks heating up when he grabbed a handful of my ass before he started kissing me harder. He suddenly pulled away from me and my eyes were still closed. As I caught my breath I felt Cole gently placing me back down on the ground. "I'm sorry." He said under his breath. "We shouldn't have done that." He added before going back inside and leaving me there to drown in my thoughts. I just kissed Cole. My stepbrother. Then why am I feeling like this? I can't have feelings for him, can I? I ran a hand through my hair before breathing out and going back inside. I avoided everyone who tried to talk to me before I went back upstairs to my room. I locked my bedroom door behind me
I have feelings for Cole.I kept repeating that sentence in my head all morning. And it is driving me crazy, this morning I was ready to confess my feelings for him but then he stopped me. Maybe it was for the best.I can't have feelings for him-"Hey, bestie." Jade interrupted my thoughts before she sat on my lap."Hi, Jade," I said tiredly."You are going on the senior trip with me." She said while holding my face in her hands."There is no way that I'm-" "I already booked your seat on the bus. You already have the room next to mine no refunds-""But-""No buts," Jade said and I sighed in defeat before she pulled me into a tight hug."I am so mad at you right now. But I'm choosing not to lash out." I said and she shot me a bored look."Whatever you're lowkey just as excited as I am to go on the senior trip." She said and I rolled my eyes at her."I'm totally not," I said in a tone that Paige would usually use and we laughed together."Laughing and talking about Paige how did you end
After school Jade and I headed towards the football field and sat on the bleachers. I took a sip from my water bottle before looking at the field. The first team came running onto the field before lining up. And those uniforms, yes lord. I watched Cole throwing the ball causing his muscles to flex.Jade was screaming next to me and I looked at her as if she wasn't okay. "Cheer with me." She said under her breath."No ways." I said before looking back to the boys playing their favourite sport. Cole sexily walked across the field before shouting something at Chris. Chris gestured with his hand and Cole nodded at him. Then out of nowhere somebody tackled Cole. He hit the ground on his side and the other person stood up. My mouth hung open and my heart was ready to jump out of my chest. Cole got up from the ground and threw the guy on the ground. His back hit the grass and the other boys pried Cole away from him."Is that-""Tyler?" I finished Jade's sentence and her mouth hung open. "W
"Are you sure you wanna go to school? If you're not feeling well we can skip the whole thing and have a girl's day." My mom said but I shook my head."No Mom, you have work and I'll be fine," I told her and she frowned at me."Via, you know I would call off work to spend time with you, no matter what." My mom said and I let out a small sigh."I know Mom, but I have to face my problems. I can't run away every time things get hard." I explained to her."Okay, but call me if you need anything. Like anything at all." My mom demanded so I nodded."I will," I said while my mom stopped in front of the school building. I climbed out and waved at her before heading inside."Oh my gosh, Liv." I heard Paige from behind me. Not her too."Paige," I said while turning around to face her."How are you?" She asked with a smile on her face and her three blonde besties glared at me."I'm good and you?" I asked and she laughed for no reason."I'm totally fantastic." She said before lacing her arm with mi
"Let's go," I told Jade and Tyler before getting up. We walked out of the cafeteria together and went to sit outside on the grass instead."A Cole-free life." I sighed while allowing the sun to kiss my face."I don't think so," Jade said and I opened my eyes. I looked to where she was looking and found the football team sitting at a table to our left."What's his deal with you?" Tyler asked in frustration so I just shrugged."He's just protective." I covered for him.I groaned when somebody came standing in front of me."Your shadow is making me cold," I said in annoyance before looking up. "Rook?" I asked in shock and he sat down beside me."Sup guys." He said before crossing his long legs."You're sitting with us?" I asked in disbelief and he nodded."Yeah. Obviously, I can't go sit with my ex-best friends." He said sarcastically."To me they're acquaintances," Tyler said pointedly."I don't understand how he would punch his best friend over a girl," Rook told Tyler."She's not any g
