His new meal.

Vladimir walked slowly down the long hallway of his mansion, it was an ancient architecture, and on the walls along the hallway, there were paintings. These paintings were the portraits of his illustrious ancestors and members of his family.

His family, how did it get there? The DRAC family, the founder of the vampire clan and above all the direct and famous line of the most exceptional vampire the world has ever known. They were twenty, three millennia ago, but the purebloods began to die one after another without anyone understanding anything. His ancestors, and his parents, all succumbed and today he remains the only one. Will he also succumb to this unknown disease? He hopes it will happen soon because despite his “young age”, he is already tired of life and only wants one thing, to join them, to join her.

He stopped in front of a portrait, his face twisting, his fine features creased. This pain that won't go away, this pain that twists his insides, his beloved, Angelica.

They were already engaged when they posed in this portrait, she was the most beautiful woman he had known. And yet, he knew women when he still attended the parties and banquets of the clan. She was dazzling but their happiness did not last long because she too left him suddenly.

It was cruel! Even if it wasn't her fault, he wished they had never known and loved each other. That way, he wouldn't have had to suffer so much, and it would have been easy to bear this loneliness instead of living with the memories of their love.

He sighed, it's no use thinking about it, it hurts him more than anything.

He went downstairs to his office where the people he hadn't tolerated for centuries were no doubt waiting for him. Slowly he opened the door to his office and as he expected, they were there. The three elders.

"We greeting our Lord"

He did not answer wanting to get straight to the point.

" What do you want from me? And I'm going to be blunt, if it's still a marriage proposal, I won't be nice this time and won't let you go home unscathed."

Two of the three shivered as the oldest remained calm. He looked at his young Lord with slow eyes as he seemed to scrutinize him.

“You look paler and thinner since the last time we saw each other Lord”

He spoke calmly as Vladimir twitched his face slightly. He would have preferred never to see him again, the last time. When was that already? Just 50 years ago is far too short when it comes to dealing with these people.

“My health condition is none of your business, so if you have nothing interesting to say to me, please dispose of it, I want to rest”.

Vladimir went to sit behind his desk as he put his hand on his forehead, he felt so tired and had only one desire, to lie down and sleep forever. He understands a little their faces, he already had the same with the servant earlier. He is undernourished and his life may be in danger.

“Lord, forgive my impertinence but I must speak frankly to you, you are our Lord, and losing you would lead to the decline of our clan. Letting you die is not our intention, which is why we allowed ourselves to take the lead. If you don't want to go hunting then we will bring you food ourselves."

The man who had just spoken closed his eyes when he saw their Lord's naturally green eyes take on a dangerous scarlet tint, a sign that he was angry.

The walls shook, cracking as the furniture creaked. Despite being hungry, their Lord was still so powerful, they had to admit it. It was indeed pure blood, and this treasure wants to let itself die because of what? No from whom? He indeed lost his parents 800 years ago but he was still himself. It is to their doom of this woman, this second-class and low-born vampire dared to infiltrate his heart. Since being freed from her presence, their Lord has lost all will to live and lets himself die slowly. They are fed up, they have to react even if for that they have to force his hand and suffer his wrath.

"For centuries, I put up with your interference in my life but now it's the last straw, give me a good reason to let you live"

The men lowered their heads in fear but at no time did they feel any regret. If it had to be done again, they would do it again. As Vladimir approached them, the door swung open, the servants coming with a young woman whose limbs were bound.

Vladimir stopped at the sudden intrusion, glaring at the newcomers, then his gaze settled on the unknown person with them. He did not recognize her as a member of this mansion and judging by her condition, bound limbs, poor situation, and ragged clothes, he knows she is a captive.

Her smell is also unique, she is not a vampire.

He frowned before advancing towards her, the voice of one of the elders echoing behind him.

“This is the meal we have prepared for you Lord, it is a quality dish because it is about a virgin princess who has been raised to the title of a saint among humans”

Vladimir frowned, what is this feeling in him? Why does this human seem to get his attention when she's just a tribute to those old bastards? He should fire her or so and those old crumbling ones. But yet, he walks towards her without knowing what attracts him.

He stopped in front of the woman, finally a young woman because judging by her appearance, she must have been barely 20 years old. The girl moved as she looked up at him…

An angel face, golden hair, and bewitching navy blue eyes looked like precious jewels, she was breathtakingly beautiful. He swallowed before bending down to her level, the woman looking at him blankly. It looked like she had suffered a trauma, he can understand that, being abducted like this must have surprised her. Without controlling his movements, he stretched his hand over her injured lip, wiping it with his thumb.

" What is her name? »

The elders seemed surprised for a moment, why ask the name of his meal? Anyway, their Lord finally seems interested in something so they won't be picky.

"Her name is Luxiana, Lord your meal for this day".
