Hailey's POV.

I resumed work at the hospital a week after tearing myself apart. I have to rebuild me for Kendall and me. We have gone back to the beginning, where we only had each other. I still feel him around me and so does Kendall because she tells me he pats her to sleep. Her room is always arranged every morning by the time she wakes up and this a sign that he's still here somehow. He's not even dead and if he was, I would have concluded that his ghost was doing all of this.

Kendall disarranged her room every nights o that she can feel connected to him in some way and I do the same thing with the kitchen. I leave greasy plates and pans in the sink because I know they'd be clean and dry ‘miraculously’ by morning. I didn't recognize me anymore after I saw myself two days ago. I looked like a shell and I questioned myself about the existence of the real me.

“Hi Hailey. You are on duty this morning so go to the children ward.” Stefan told me as he passed by the nursing station.
