Author’s POV.Zac's pack isn't the same again. The started a restructuring policy to get things back to order like relieving Cedric of his duties as the acting Alpha and reducing the staff work hours from 18 to 8, which was the initial hour they spent at work before Cedric decided to overwork them. The unmated maids were relieved of their suites and given care at the pack hospital they had to undergo many tests and body examinations to prove they were assaulted. Information were gathered from the victims and some who couldn't talk due to post traumatic stress disorder, they had to hire special therapists to talk to them and make them feel comfortable. While this was going on, Elder Noah was compiling information on the ruthlessness of Cedric and Matilda to submit to Alpha Zac. He was working together with some other Elders to dethrone Cedric and the acting Alpha since all he did was bring laws that condoned his ruthless behavior. Zac on the other hand worried about his daughter and h
HAILEY'S POV“I'm serious Mum, he was here!”Kendall was insistent that her dream was in fact a reality. I saw Zac in my dreams but I know it's an after effect of the pains I've been feeling since he left me. My chest hurts so badly and it felt like my heart had been ripped out of my body. “Zac didn't come here, Kendall.” I sat her down and held her while I talked to her. She's just as stubborn as he is.“But I saw him. I really saw him Mum. I saw him holding your hand and telling you how much he missed you.” She frowned and I sighed. This is just as hard for me as it is for her. I hugged her in an attempt to comfort her but she pushed me away. “You should believe me mum. If you can't believe me, why try to make me feel like what I said wasn't the truth?” She ran out of the room, pushing through Gabriella and Madam Crystal at the door. “I've done all I can ma. I can't possibly do better than this. I'm suffering too. I'm in pains and my heart hurts at the thought of Zac and all she
ZAC'S POV“A toast. To Alpha Zac's health and well being.” Elder Noah cheered as he raised his glass higher. He stood at the foot of the stair case while I stood at the first stair. “To Alpha Zac's health and well being!” Everyone else chorused and raised their glass too. I could see Matilda. She was dressed like it was her wedding day and she looked too glamorous for someone with evil agenda. “Zac.” A familiar voice called out to me and when I turned back to see who it was, I realized it was Hailey's sister: Alisha. One of the reasons I would not kill her off after the stunt she pulled six years ago is because she led me to Hailey. Maybe I would have met Hailey under normal circumstances since she was bound to be Alpha of her pack after her father's retirement or I would even have met her six years ago without drama but Alisha instigated the meeting between us and turns out Hailey is my mate and for this reason, I would spare her life. I found out about this when I went to Alpha
‘Author’s POV’“I think he has caught on.” Aiden informed Cedric and Jack, Jason and Felix faced Cedric who sat on a chair in a very dark room. “Oh, I know, Aiden. I know because he wasn't his usual self. He was acting out of place, not being friendly with me anymore and guess who's tired of pretense? Me!” Cedric's laughter filled the dark atmosphere. “Well, we shall launch our plan very soon as I am tired and we shall dispose Matilda and Kiara!” His evil laughter charged the dark atmosphere and it became even darker. “What's the plan to dispose Matilda and Kiara?” Jason asked and Cedric stopped laughing. “Why? Are you Zac's spy or my spy or a double agent who goes to whoever is willing to pay higher?” Jason froze. He hid it so well that he was on Zac's side and it's almost showing. But his fears soon melted away as Cedric laughed like a maniac again. “He's scared!” His laughter continued and he started sounding more like a child whose stomach had been tickled. Jason's eyes dar
Hailey's POV“Hello Hailey.” She was the last person on my mind. She wasn't even on my mind. She was far from wherever my mind could wander off to at any point in time. I slammed my door shut and I couldn't hear whatever she had to say. Who does she think she is, waltzing back into my life? Father didn't believe me but her case is different. She was the instigator of everything. “Hailey..”“Oh shut up, Alisha.” I cut her off. I wasn't ready. I wasn't ready to face her or hear her apologies and rants. Will I ever be ready? I guess not. We will never go back to the way we once were. I leaned on the door and it suddenly crossed my mind that I was heading to the hospital for work. I guess Alisha has to man the main door for the rest of the day as I would be using the emergency exit for my own sanity and comfort. My troubled mind couldn't help but wander to what we used to be. We used to be more than sisters. She was my father's illegitimate child but I never saw her as that. I loved he
Hailey's POVMy world wasn't stagnant. It was spinning so fast I couldn't process everything word for word. All I heard was the angel of death ringing bells in my ears that it was time for me to depart from this sinful world. “My mistake, Madam. She is Hailey Greg, right?” The doctor asked and Madam Crystal answered affirmatively. “Well, she's just tired. She has been undergoing a lot of stress lately and she needs maximum rest. Once again I apologize for giving wrong information to you.” He left as soon as he apologized and i could hear sighs of relief. The hearts of everyone must have gone to Mars and back in seconds, including mine. I was scared, terrified even. Who would raise my Kendall? How would I get in touch with Zac? I would be dead by then, stone cold.Sometimes I forget that we are even mates and we have a special connection that makes us feel us. We can feel each other without being near to each other. “Oh, thank goodness. My heart went through worse emotions than it
Hailey's POVTalking to Gabriella lifted up my spirit despite the fact that my heart kept going back to Alisha. How is she? I'm not as brutal as she is so I worry about her. “Late night snack for you.” Diana sat beside me and stretched a bag towards me. I snatched it immediately and opened the bag to see the content. She bought a burrito for me. “Awww, so cute Diana.” I cooed and Diana rolled her eyes. Mushy romance isn't her thing until Fisher gets involved. I threw the bag beside me and as I unwrapped the burrito, I was hit with the aroma of the sauce that smeared the wrapper. Whatever the diner downtown added to their burrito, it's the best. I forced the tip of the burrito wrap into my mouth and took a big bite. It melted in my mouth like ice cream. I couldn't help but throw my bead backwards, savoring the food and munching on whatever remained in my mouth. “Thank you, Diana. I guess I really needed it.” I mumbled, food bits dropping from the corner of my lips. I folded the rem
Hailey's POV“I haven't seen you in six years and all you say is ‘I'm sorry’? Come on, Alisha!” I rolled my eyes at her. I tried to sound like it doesn't hurt anymore and I feared that one day, it would hurt me so bad I'd lash out at her. “Well, how are you?” Alisha asked reluctantly, her voice quivering just like her lips and fingers. “How are you, Ali?” I summoned courage to ask. I was scared. Terrified. Going back to the way we were isn't something that can happen anytime soon but somehow I wanted it to happen. “I'm good.” My gaze lingered upon her and she panicked. “Well not good, I'm sad and-” I chuckled. She's still the same. Diana excused us at my signal. I needed to talk to Alisha alone. “You don't have to feel bad. I've been good too.” I responded as I watched her shiver under my gaze. I wasn't even doing anything, I was just staring at her, wondering how someone could be so wicked and harbour such hate in them such that they would want to claim what is not theirs. I wou
