Chapter 3 Get On Your Knees And Beg.

If there was to be a single thing that Giselle could erase from her mind, it’d be the image of her so called best friend and boy friend, half naked and lovely making out in a VIP hotel suit.

Raquel, the name of the rose blonde who was currently siting on her boyfriend’s lap and sucking off his face, giggled.

Giselle hadn’t expected to run into them both here. It just so happened that she was trying to escape from a certain hormone filled jerk who had almost forced himself onto her when she tried borrowing some money for her father treatment.

The whole situation was crazy. Tears welled at the corner of her eyes; what the brunette didn’t understand was why? Was it because she had just caught her long time boyfriend and best friend making out, or was it just her body finally responding after she’d escaped such a hard situation.

To focused on the heartbreaking scene, Giselle didn’t noticed when her body moved on it own, hands pushing the suit’s door further open and stepping in.

Both traitor’s head snapped towards where they heard footsteps coming from, color draining from their faces the moment Giselle was spotted.

Raquel quick got off Ethan’s lap, almost tripping on the hotel’s overly long sheets. “Giselle? Y-you’re here?”

“Zelly, why are you here?” Ethan speedily reached for his shirt, trying to get it on as soon as possible..

Giselle kept silent. Slowly glancing between the two people she once trusted with her life.

Was she so stupid and blind that the signs went unnoticed? Or was she just too busy taking care of her comatose father. Or was it both.

Her inside burned with each thought, and the longer she stared at the traitors in front, her head spun. “W-when were you going to tell me?” She inquired, taking a step back as Ethan stood up. She noticed a slight stagger in her step but paid no mind to it. “Did you ever plan to tell me? Did you?!“

“Giselle, it’s not what you-“ Raquel began but was cut of flat by the roaring voice of Giselle.

“It’s exactly what I think it is! Don’t lie to me!” At this point, the brunette was having a full on break down. Tears streamed down her cheeks and her nose took on a pink shade. “I-I trusted you, Raquel, and Ethan. I thought I could trust you both! But… but… How long?! And don’t fucking lie to me!”

Ethan directed his gaze to the floor. “Three years.” He breathed.

Giselle felt her world daze for a second. Three out of Five years of their relationship was a lie.

“Please don’t be mad at Raquel.” Ethan side hugged the rose blonde as he spoke. “She didn’t want to do this, I forced her into it. Let’s just end things now, Zelly.”

Giselle glanced between them again, but this time, catching the smile on Raquel’s lip.

She was finally showing her through colors.

Staggering back, Giselle turned around and began heading for the door, muttering a clear “we’re over” as she slammed the door.

Now out in the hallway, the scent of alcohol and cigarettes danced through the air, increasing her dizziness. But even she knew the burning sensation throughout her body and dizziness wasn’t just from scent of alcohol, cigarettes and anger.

‘Zolpidem? Bastard.’ As her steps became more uncoordinated and vision hazy, she slammed into someone who instantly grabbed her by the wrist, and tugged her around. The last thing she saw before going black was a gold dragon sown at the front of the a suit’s material.

**********

Giselle blinked away the memory, swirling the wine in her glass as if to distort an image.

It had been two days since she’d meet Ezra’s parent. When Jasmine had called and broke the unfortunate news of them not being able to attend the engagement, as they had to attend a last minute conference, Giselle had felt slightly heartbroken. Currently, her engagement party had already begun.

Ezra had rented out the whole of Crystal Oasis for five days, making sure that everything was planned according to his say so. Not many people used the hotel but yet it remained number one on the chat of commercial establishments. That was because a whole day in Crystal Oasis could run you a bill close to a hundred and twenty thousand dollar per night, it was almost as expensive as a night at Lover's Deep Submarine. Giselle saw it as a waste of money. No one at the party really cared about either of them. It was evident that they had just come to size up the venue and gather new gossip.

Unfortunately, it seemed like they were going to get the gossip they came for.

It was half an hour into welcoming their guests and Giselle was already worn out. Although Ezra's arm had been of great support, she wasn't used to wearing heels for so long. Another wave of laughter came from the group of guests she and Ezra were currently welcoming and she looked up from her glass of wine, forcing a polite smile unto her lip. She could tell Ezra was also forcing himself, although she had never seen him truly smile, she just could tell.

Just when she was about to lose interest in the whole event, she spotted two figures walking into the hall, hand in hand and her heart sunk.

"Ezra, I have to go welcome some guest. I'll be back." She forced herself to say, getting on the tip of her heels and placing a kiss on his cheek before walking towards her 'Guests', leaving the group of seven to hoot and tease the groom to be.

Ezra was slightly stunned by her action, but brushed it off as part of her act.

"What are you both doing here? You know what, don’t answer that, just leave." Giselle sneered each word.

“Well, I’d like to ask you that question.” Raquel raised her eyebrow. Ever since that day she had become unbelievably rude, and Ethan saw nothing wrong with that. Probably keeping quiet like a love-sick puppy. “Have you come to steal someone else’s man?”

“Watch your words, Raquel.” Giselle warned.

“What?! I’m I wrong? Or did you magically become Mr. Heinrich’s Fiancée?”

Giselle squared her shoulder, carrying her head up high. “Yes, exactly.” Her tone left no room for doubt.

Raquel was a bit taken aback by her certainty. She didn’t expect someone like Giselle to have such luxury after being used by someone like Benjamin Fort.

Benjamin was a notorious playboy known to sleep with almost every woman he had on his contact list and Giselle Cornwell happened to be one of those women.

Deciding to play along, Raquel wrapped her arms around Ethan’s upper arm, beaming like a dying star.

"Wow Giselle, you really out did yourself." She looked around the hall astonished at its aesthetic and her hatred towards Giselle grew at the slight thought that all this might actually belong to her. Never had she imagined Giselle getting the perfect life she so desired. She was determined to ruin it, starting from today and every other day after it. She wanted to humiliate her so badly that she’d never want to show her face in public ever again. "Never thought you'll ever snag such a huge fish."

Giselle kept her cool, glancing back at Ethan briefly before putting a fake smile on her lips "Yeah, I threw out one trash and got a freaking diamond. Fate works in mysterious way."

"You mean your body works in mysterious ways. Who'd known throwing yourself at that playboy would give you such status! But I still wonder, how are you able to become a part of such a prestigious family when you lost your virginity to a player who’s not going to become your husband! How shameless!"

Raquel was raising her voice, drawing the attention of various guests. People were now slowly dissipating from their tables and coming towards the scene Raquel was creating.

"You left your father on his deathbed and went to sell your body to a man. I could never love someone like you." Ethan sneered, shaking his head in disdain.

Giselle's smile dropped and her gaze hardened as she stared at the duo in disgust.

She had never expected such troupe from them both, never in a thousand years.

"Honestly, I wonder if your husband to be even knows what type of a woman you are." Raquel folded her arms, giving her shoulder a tiny shrug. "Well, they were eventually going to find out what a scandalous woman you are."

Waves of murmurs travelled around the room and Raquel victoriously smirked. She was slowly changing the way in which people saw Giselle.

‘That’d teach her not to be a poser.’ Raquel thought.

The room felt stuffy and for a second, Giselle doubted if her plan for revenge would actually work.

Wouldn't it be better if she just ran out of here and moved to a quiet place where no one knew who she was.

Oh wait, she currently didn’t even have enough money to get herself a trailer house and what would happen to her father’s medical bills.

The more she kept silent, the more the voice dared to rise, boldly cussing her out on her own engagement day.

Sick. That was how she currently felt under the disgusted gaze of everyone.

"The youngest daughter of the Davis family sure is bold. She dares to speak such trash about my Future wife. Do you wish for your family to face bankruptcy." The hall went silent as Ezra spoke. People stepped to the side, making way for the business tyrant to pass.

Raquel turned pale as she watched Ezra strode toward Giselle and Ethan gasped.

Ezra took his place behind the brunette, giving the couple who dare spread rumors at his engagement ceremony a stern glare before turning his attention towards his Fiancée to be and placing a hand on her lower waist. The contact brought her out of her blackout and when she looks up to see who it was, she felt like crying.

"It seems like Young miss Davis has too much time on her hand, as a result, she dares spread baseless rumors about my Fiancée. Haven't you been thought how to control your mouth." The crowd parted further, they could feel the radiation Ezra was giving off. But Raquel didn’t give in, she continued to run her mouth.

"Baseless? I promise you it’s real."

"Where's your proof?" Ezra demanded. The crowd was astonished at how Ezra didn't bat a lash and took the side of his fiancée without doubt. Their looks of disgust slowly dissolved, morphing that of admiration.

"I... Proof?" Raquel's voice quivered, she suddenly realized her mistake and froze like a deer in headlight. Things suddenly weren't going her way.

Who would have told her that Giselle was actually his fiancée and that he had such trust in her.

"So, you have none." The anger was evident in Ezra's tone, making the duo in front shrink.

The crowd once again began murmuring, this time around it carried words of how stupid Raquel looked. Some snickered, calling her a covetous person.

Ethan realized that the situation had begun to slip out of their grasp and stepped forward, pushing the rose-blonde haired female behind him. "Raquel meant no harm, Mr. Heinrich. We’re all friends of Zelly, She must have heard such rumors somewhere and wanted to confirm it because of how much she worries. Forgive her."

"Don’t tell me you’re that stupid, Mr Monroe. And from this moment forth, address my Fiancée by her full name." Ezra said and shook his head. More snickers filled the room and Ethan felt truly humiliated but he dared not talk back.

Ezra was feared for several reasons. Be it how he ran the business world or his ruthlessness. People feared him and gave way when he approached, some even turned around.

So for the sake of Ezra’s support and Ethan’s current project, he keep quiet.

As for Giselle, she had remained silent the whole time, observing Ezra. The amount of venom each of his words carried seemed real. Real enough to make her forget that this was just an act. But it felt good watching someone get angry because of her.

Ezra directed his gaze down, catching her staring at him, and when she did not look away, he raised a questioning brow at her. It was then she was slapped out of her daze by reality.

It was all an act.

"How do you want to deal with them, Giselle?"

The brunette blinked in surprise. Ezra had actually asked for her opinion. What happened to the icy tyrant who made her to go on a two-day diet.

Giselle looked at them both. Letting them off with ease wasn't in her vocabulary. Moreover, this wasn't the main point of her revenge. Ending everything here would be too painless. Giselle wanted them to experience a humiliation worse than death. She wanted to drag their existence in the mud while she sat on the highest chair and laughed.

And exactly that she was going to do. Just not yet.

"Hand them over to the police for defamation."

Raquel's face resembled the color of the ball wall at that moment. Pale white.

"No! You can't do that! I can't go to the police station! My reputation would be ruined! Would you really do that to your longtime friend?!" She cried out, gripping onto Ethan's arms like a lost child.

Giselle found the situation funny. "You're right, I shouldn’t send you to the police station. But for the fact that you interrupted and slandered me at my own engagement party, you have to at least apologize."

"We're sorry!" Ethan chirped.

"No. Get on your knees and beg."

"Giselle!" Ethan roared, taking a step forward but stopped under the deadly glare of Ezra.

"Are you gonna do it or should I get someone who would make you do it?"

"Oh, we can do that? Fun. What are you waiting for, should we call someone? Or are you going to get on your knees."

Raquel was fuming with anger. Her eyes were bright red and her wacky makeup was long destroyed by her running tears. Ethan glanced around the room; all eyes were on them. There was no escaping this. Whether it was the police station they ended up in or they went down on their knees and begged for forgiveness, their reputations were sure to deteriorate in the eyes of society.
