EMILIA POV

“Do not do something you’ll end up regretting, Seth. Let her go,” Lucas warned him, but I was pretty sure that killing one of the members of the Werewolf Council and holding another captive was enough for him to regret it later in his life and never think of doing it again.

“You do know that you’re cornered, don’t you?” I reminded him, gesturing at all of the soldiers who were sworn to the Elders. “The moment they get you, it’s all over for you, Seth. Think about this and let her go before things get ugly for you.”

Seth only laughed mockingly at us as he drew his knife closer to Penelope’s neck and looked around at the guards, who were stuck on the fence of defending Penelope and risking her life and letting Seth remain like that to keep her alive.

“You really think I’m cornered?” he asked me, his eyes turning darker than they already were. “I will get them all killed in only a few seconds.”
