“What are you talking about?" Rayne asked, looking at Selene with hunger in his eyes.

Selene ignored his question and dressed properly as she got down from the table. Her body was still flushed pink, and her lips felt swollen from the kiss.

“I'm thanking you for making me feel this way, so you should stop,” Selene said, walking past him to take the cloak and the book she dropped in shock.

Rayne was still confused and stunned by her statement, but he was not a fool to not know what Selene meant. It means she is claiming that she does not feel anything for him, but Rayne is convinced that could not be true.
