I walked into the meeting room, all the council members were already waiting. They all stood up, bowing their head as I walked to my seat.

I sat down and wavered my hands for them to seat, my gaze fell on the empty chair that was supposed to be occupied by my uncle.

“I thought you said your father was coming,” I whispered to Adrian, who was by my side.

“So I thought, maybe something came up”. He replied.

“Shall we get to the business of the day? I have plenty of things to do today”. I spoke up.

“The beta is not present, may we know why?” The spokesman of the council members asked.

“He has a personal issue to attend to, Adrian is taking his place for the moment. Did we by any chance gather here to talk about beta James?”

“No, my apologies, Alpha. We have all gathered here to discuss something crucial that has got the whole pack talking”.

“Which is? I will suggest you go straight to the point of this meeting, you are already wasting my precious time”. I said, my tone
