The satisfaction I felt in watching my plans come to fruition was immeasurable. It had been a long and difficult road since my husband's death, but I had taken up the mantle of leadership with determination and strength.

As I sat at the head of the table, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement as I plotted my next move. My stepdaughter-in-law, Paris, was a relatively new member of the family, and I knew she would be easy to manipulate. She was young and naive, and I knew that I could use that to my advantage. I had chosen her over Charlotte because I knew Charlotte would be a thorn in my side. She was strong-willed and independent, and I knew she would never fall in line the way I wanted her to. But Paris was different. She would be eager to please and eager to be accepted by the family. I knew that with the right amount of pressure and persuasion, I could get her to do whatever I wanted. And if she didn't comply, I knew I could use her weakness against her.
