Loving Cousin

Jules spoke before I had a chance to say anything. "She's my wife. It doesn't matter how old she is."

Now he looked even more skeptical. "Ya'll are married?" he asked, his tone implying he didn't believe her.

I was confused and turned to ask her what she was doing, but Jules reached around my shoulders and pulled me close. She kissed me, moving her mouth against mine and knocking all other thoughts out of my head. I forgot everything as she took my breath away. She stopped after a few lovely moments and turned back to him. "See?"

His eyes opened wide as he licked his lips. "Uh, fine. You're married," he said. Then he turned to go back to the bar, looking back over his shoulder at us twice as he went.

I was hot suddenly and took off my coat. "That was unexpected."

"You wanted a beer, didn't you?"

"Yes," I agreed, putting my coat down next to me on the seat. "That was ... wow."
