Etizia’s POV
In the Esquar Pack, I went through the worst. I couldn't eat to my heart's content, couldn't dress up nicely because my stepsister despised it, and was treated like the lowest of the low.
I didn't expect my life in the Renoir Pack to be any different.
But then, the maid informed me that Alpha Nox had commanded everyone to treat me like their Queen.
I couldn't believe it. Why would a merciless Alpha King do such a thing?
Could it be because I am his wife? His Luna? His mate?
Is it possible for him to do this even without any love between us, but only a bond forged by the Moon Goddess?
Days went by, and it dawned on me that Nox wasn't just joking around.
"Luna, are you not enjoying the food? You barely touched anything else," the chef in the castle questioned me.
I glanced at him and replied, "Oh, I love everything. I'm just too full. You really went all out with this feast. I can't possibly eat it all."
"Thank goodness. I was worried my cooking wasn't up to par for you," the chef breathed a sigh of relief.
"Luna," my maid, Hany, entered the room with a bouquet of flowers. "The Alpha King sent you another bouquet today."
I gazed at the flowers and requested, "Could you please put them in a vase?"
"Of course, Luna," Hany responded as she began arranging the flowers.
"The weather outside is lovely," Hany mentioned while working on the flowers. "Would you like to go for a walk?"
I glanced out the window and admired the beauty of the clear blue sky. "That sounds like a great idea. Let's go outside," I suggested.
With Hany by my side, we stepped out of the castle and relished in the sensation of walking on the lush green grass, feeling the earth beneath our bare feet.
Taking in the magnificent sight of the castle, I couldn't help but marvel at how stunning the world was.
In Esquar, my world was never this vibrant and colorful.
Being Nox's wife, I was fortunate to have a blissful life. I ate well, slept well, dressed well, and had plenty of time to rest. However, Nox never appeared before me again.
Since our first night as a married couple, Nox had not visited me. I could sense his presence in the castle, but he never greeted me.
All he ever did was send me a bouquet of flowers every day. That was the extent of our interaction.
"I should be thankful that the man I used to fear is keeping his distance," I reassured myself.
But then, I found myself feeling a little sad.
"No, it's just because of the connection I felt. He's my mate. The connection made me feel this way," I blamed the Moon Goddess.
I kept walking, lost in my thoughts.
As I stared at my feet, I couldn't help but think about my original plan before coming here. I was bound by my destiny as the Luna of the Alpha King. All I wanted was to escape.
"But do I still want to escape now?" I questioned myself.
My dream of being with someone I love was shattered when Timothy rejected my love. And here I am, living a content life.
"Maybe staying here is the best choice for me," I pondered.
Biting my lower lip, I caught a glimpse of werewolves running somewhere. I know everyone here is busy, but today seemed busier than the past few days.
Curious, I turned to Hany and asked, “What is today’s occasion? Everyone seems occupied.”
Hany replied, "We're expecting guests from the Diamond Pack, a strong Pack next to Renoir. They're newlyweds, and they're here to visit the Alpha King as a formality."
When I heard about it, I suddenly felt excited hearing more. After all, the peace between Diamond and Renoir were an impossible dream in the past. But now, it is not.
"Why are they visiting, and why wasn't I informed earlier?" I asked.
Hany explained, "It's customary for strong newlywed couples to visit the Alpha King. It wasn't your responsibility to accommodate them; that's why you weren't informed."
I nodded in agreement. It won't tire me out. But since I have nothing to do here, I'm starting to feel a bit bored pretending to be a Princess.
"Do you think it's okay if I go take a look?" I inquired.
"Of course. There's nothing wrong with that, Luna," Hany replied. "After all, one of the guests is your brother-in-law."
I was expecting Nox to have siblings. But I didn't see any during the wedding, so I was curious.
"Is his brother also wearing a mask?" I asked.
"No, his brother never wears a mask to hide his face," Hany explained.
They say siblings usually have similar features. Maybe Nox looks like his brother.
'It's time to find out.'
Excited, I turned to Hany and asked, "Where can I find them?"
"At the entrance of the castle," she answered.
Without hesitation, I quickened my pace and ran.
As I sprinted, I glanced down and realized I had forgotten to put on my shoes. But I was already close to the entrance, so I just kept going without them.
The werewolves who caught sight of me running gave me strange looks as if I had completely lost my mind.
I wasn't here to play the part of a dignified Queen, so their judgment didn't bother me.
At last, I reached the entrance of the castle's main door.
Trying to catch my breath, I spotted two figures in the distance - a man and a woman.
The woman lovingly adjusted the man's necktie, and they looked so adorable together.
I glanced over at the man standing across from me, blocking my view of his face. He had silver hair and a strong build.
"Is that my husband's brother?" I wondered to myself.
Hany, who had just arrived by my side, replied, "Yes, that's the Alpha King's older brother," as she caught her breath while holding my shoes.
I was about to step forward to introduce myself when a familiar scent reached my nostrils.
'This scent...!' I gasped quietly.
My eyes instinctively darted back to the man with silver hair.
No way. Why does he smell like someone I know?
"No way. Their hair colors are completely different," I whispered, desperately wishing I was mistaken.
Yet, the man gradually glanced over his shoulder, almost as if he could feel my presence.
As he pivoted towards me, our eyes locked.
My heart felt like it was about to burst out of my chest when I realized who he was.
"Ti..." I stammered, my voice quivering. "Timothy," I spoke the name of the rogue wolf I had once fallen for.
Etizia’s POVThe first time I experienced love was after I ran away from home. After leaving Esquar Pack, I had to blend into human society. To support myself, I resorted to selling fruits in the market. One fateful day, a charming man approached me and confidently said, "You're an Omega, aren't you?"With just one glance, I could tell he was a werewolf."I've been wondering where that delightful scent was coming from. And it's you," the werewolf said, flashing an enticing smile.Although it was a brief encounter, that's how it all began.I fell head over heels for the handsome werewolf, who introduced himself as Timothy, a rogue residing in the forest.I thought I had finally found my happily ever after. However, Timothy eventually left me.“I found my mate, Etizia. I am sorry. I can’t be with you anymore,” Timothy said, hanging his head in sorrow.Crying, I held his hand and said, “You told me that you don’t care about the bond. That even if you found your mate, you’ll stay with me!
Etizia’s POV I took a deep breath and stood confidently in front of Timothy, with Nox by my side. It had taken a great deal of bravery for me to finally look up and meet his gaze. As I did, I noticed that Timothy's face mirrored my own expression; a strained attempt to remain composed. "Hello, Alpha King," Timothy's wife, a stunning woman, greeted us. Her words prompted Timothy and me to avoid each other's eyes. "It's been quite a while since I last visited," she said, her eyes locked onto mine. Her smile appeared pleasant, but it made me feel uneasy. "And now, I see the Luna. It brings me joy to return, doesn't it, Timothy?" Timothy remained silent, his gaze shifting downwards as he let out a sigh. To my surprise, it was my husband, Nox, who spoke up instead. "It's been quite a while, hasn't it? We just reunited after marrying our respective mates." Observing the two of them, I couldn't help but notice that their smiles didn't quite reach their eyes. They appeared far from ha
Etizia’s POV In the dining hall of the Alpha King’s castle, my heart raced like a horse in full gallop. This was the first time I sat down to dine with my husband and to add to the tension, my ex-boyfriend and his wife were also present. Thankfully, only my ex and I were aware of our shared history. I noticed Timothy stealing glances at me from across the table. To avoid any suspicion from Nox, I kept my gaze fixed elsewhere. As the dishes arrived, I was bewildered to spot my favorites. Was it just a coincidence? ‘There’s no way my husband prepared my favorite foods while knowing that,’ I pondered, glancing at his side profile. The four of us sat in a heavy silence as we began to eat, the only noise coming from the clinking of silverware. In the quiet atmosphere, I glanced around at the group. Clearly, nobody was interested in engaging in conversation over the meal. That’s when my eyes settled on Timothy. ‘He told me he was a lone wolf, but he's actually the Alpha King's br
Etizia’s POV What will happen if Timothy and his wife decide to live here? I might live here with constant fear of getting caught. Although Timothy and I broke up, that won’t reassure me that my husband will be fine. I might really die when it happens. ‘Please. Don’t torment me any longer,’ I prayed to the Goddess of the Moon. My steps halted, and the hand that was intertwined with mine slipped away. My focus shifted from my deep contemplations to my husband. He guided me out of the dining area, and only then did I realize my surroundings. As I glanced around, we found ourselves in the garden. Without turning around, Nox expressed his gratitude, "I appreciate you accompanying me to welcome my guests." I gazed at his strong, broad shoulder. “But there's no need for that. I'll handle our guests," he said. Now that we're alone, it seems like he's dropped the act of being my loving husband. It was all just a show, after all. "I'll head back to my office," Nox muttered as he
Etizia’s POV How much time did he spend waiting for me? How many hours did he sit on the bench just to catch a glimpse of my face? Has he been doing this every single day since he arrived in this place? These thoughts swirling in my mind made me realize that I haven't completely moved on from this man. And perhaps that's why I found myself frozen in place, unable to take my eyes off him. Luckily, I noticed the ring on his finger, which prompted me to glance down at my own ring. "Snap out of it, Etizia. You and him are both married," warned Genivie, my wolf. I exhaled and shifted my gaze towards the North. "I heard that you and your wife recently moved here, brother-in-law. I hope you both have a pleasant stay. Well then, I must be on my way." I took a step forward. But Timothy obstructed my path. "Where are you going?" he inquired. I forced a smile and replied, "I don't believe it's my responsibility to disclose my destination to you." "Indeed, it isn't. I was simply curio
Etizia’s POV “Who made you cry?” Nox’s questions sharpened all my senses. I felt the rising tide of fear from my head to toe. With my paralyzed legs, I looked at my husband, who caught me crying over another man. I was unable to run away. The Alpha King leaned closer. His hand wrapped around my waist, and he pulled me. Once a close contact was made, his lips went near my ear. “You have the scent of another male wolf. Was it him who made you cry?” he whispered. SHIT. DO I SMELL LIKE TIMOTHY? “What did he do?” My husband murmured. “Do you want me to punish the bastard who made you in this mess? Just say a word.” Fear coursed through my veins like a dark river as I pulled away. "I saw your brother," I confessed, my heart pounding in my chest. Inside, I was screaming as Nox took a step back and locked eyes with me. "I was heading outside when I... when I ran into Timothy," I continued, the words spilling out. "We talked about the rogue wolf who rejected me. Timothy didn't do a
Etizia’s POVI had hoped that venturing into the world of humans would finally reveal my husband's face concealed behind his mask. Yet, Alpha Nox remained adamant, refusing to unveil himself and opting to keep the mask on as we ventured out to the mall. The car was parked outside, with Dominic already outside waiting for us as Nox and I remained seated in the back.Feeling uneasy, I stole glances at him.It will be impossible not to receive stares and whispers from those who will be around us, all curious about this man in the mask. Thus, I mustered up my courage and took a deep breath before turning my head towards him. With a soft voice, I whispered his name, accompanied by his endearing title, "Alpha Nox."In response, Nox tilted his head towards me, his gaze fixed upon mine."Um, well, you see, we're in the human society. I can't help but wonder if it's safe for you to walk around with a mask covering your face," I nervously expressed. My heart raced, fearing his potential anger.
Etizia’s POV When I awoke, I found my husband gazing intently at my face, his eyes resembling vibrant rubies. He remained frozen in place, seemingly unable to budge, as if I caught him trying to kiss me while I was asleep. Well, yeah. I also couldn't deny the truth. With such a small distance separating us and the intoxicating aroma of my mate enveloping the air, I felt an overwhelming urge to draw him nearer and taste his lips. It was the undeniable bond we shared as mates that fueled this longing. However, I had to resist. I couldn't allow this desire to consume me. Perhaps Nox's peculiar behavior was influenced by our mate bond. Could it be that he is drawn to my scent, explaining why he nearly kissed me? Curious and also excited to know the answer, I asked him, "What are you up to?" My words seemed to jolt him back to reality, causing Nox to distance himself. "I was just about to wake you up," he replied, leaving me feeling a tad disheartened. I couldn't quite fathom why
