VIOLET

‘ I want to run through the forest. ’ Lia declares and turns around.

I feel like I am caged in my own body at first as Lia begins to run. I have almost no coordination with her movements.

“ Violet. ” Wolf calls me out from behind.

Lia doesn’t stop when he calls and breaks out in a run. The trees whiz past me — or maybe — us.

Sooner than I anticipated, I feel like her body and mine is becoming one — coordinating efficiently.

I feel what she feels, sense what she senses. The freedom which courses through my veins as Lia carries us both through the forest into an unknown direction is unlike anything I have experienced before.

Her paws hit the ground, dust flying around and strangely, I can see every single speck of it. Although we are running fast, if I focus enough, I can see all the trees and the tiniest of their details.

My head pounds with anxiety.

‘ I think we should stop now. ’ I suggest.

‘ You don’t feel well. ’ Lia comments.
