Chapter Six

"Where do you want me to drop this vase, sir?" Lucia asked Thomas as she picked up the shiny vase.

"Oh, Lucia, drop it close to the China cups right there," Thomas said as he began dusting the glass cups on the shelves. "And drop it carefully. It is breakable and very very expensive." Diana nodded as she dropped the vase cautiously beside the China cups Thomas had told her to. She sighed in relief after dropping it as the vase was very slippery.

"Done with cleaning the vases, sir" Lucia said to Thomas. "What next do you want me to do, sir?" she asked as Thomas turned to face her.

"Just take some rest, okay?" he said as he motioned for her to sit down. "You have done enough for today. I and my wife can finish the rest."

"No, no, no," Lucia said as she walked up to Thomas and grabbed the duster from his hands. "I refuse, sir. I can't stand and watch you and Ma clean this place when I know I'm capable of doing it myself." Thomas smiled and walked to the chair and sat on it.
