Imagination Or Reality?

Sam had been getting too many surprises and shocks for one day, he looked up at the old man from where he was sitting, his eyes glowing in amazement. It was a fucking joke, Sam concluded in his mind and a slight grin appeared on his face.

“This is not a joke Sam,” the old man said, as if he read his mind; giving Sam a hand to help him up his feet.

The surprise and confusion slowly returned to Sam’s face again. What the hell was going on here? What does he mean by a young master? Sam asked himself again, staring at the old man confusedly.

“My name is Clinton Wells, you’ll have to come with me Sam,” the elderly man shook Sam's hands, a small wrinkled grin lingering on his face.

"Hey, stop! Are you kidding me? Why would I trust you? You said the restaurant belongs to this poor loser? I think you must be a patient from mental hospital! And these men in black, they must be your wardmates!" Borris laughed, he didn't believe a word of the old man. He just wanted the police to come soon.

The old man sneered, he dialed a phone number and passed it to Borris. Borris mocked, "Are you out of your mind? You want to compensate me with this shabby pho..."

However, when Borris saw the name the old man was calling, he was shock, because it was his boss.

"Don't you wanna pick it up, Mr. Boris? I think it must be your boss, it's not a good thing to reject your boss's call, right?" The old man said calmly.

Borris felt nervous, it can't be true, but what if it's true? He took the phone with a trembling hand and a hoarse voice, "Hello?"

"You troublemaker Borris! How dare you to offend Mr. Well? He is my boss! Everything in this restaurant belongs to the family he serves, including you, you son of...." The furious voice came out from the speaker of the phone. Boris was shocked, it was his boss's voice, he would never mishear.

"S...sorry boss, I..." Before Borris could finish a sentence, his boss interrupted him.

"Just stop your non-sense quibble and applogize to Mr. Well sincerely, otherwise no one could help!" The boss cut the line, and Boris went weak at the knees.

"My apology, Mr. Well. I didn't know..." Borris said with a whimper.

The old man stopped him, "Can we leave now?"

"Yes, yes! No one dares to stop you here..." Borris said respectfully, now he knew this old man was the one he could never offend.

The old man then started towards the entrance of the restaurant.

“What’s happening,” Sam murmured to himself, he had never been so confused in his life.

“You’ll find out soon enough,”

Sam didn’t expect Clinton to hear that, he glanced at Borris who was totally still in shock, then he shifted his eyes to Stephan and George then to the other waiters who were staring at him in absolute confusion.

He was just as surprised as they are, but he had to find out who Clinton Wells really was and what a young master meant.

Sam followed Clinton and realized that a few of the hefty men followed behind him while the remaining had accompanied Clinton to the car.

They had all left the restaurant with Sam, before Borris spoke, acting as if he wasn’t almost pissing his pants a few seconds ago.

“What are you all looking at, back to work!” He yelled, his heart was still beating abnormally, he closed his eyes and took in a deep breath.

There was no way Mr. Clinton was telling the truth, Sam could never be the young master, Borris thought.

“I want all this cleared in less than an hour,” Borries yelled out again, staring disgustedly at the hundreds of ceramic pieces that covered the tiled floor.

When Sam got out of the restaurant, the car door was already opened for him to enter, he couldn’t believe his eyes.

It was a black Rolls Royce Cullinan, something was definitely wrong somewhere.

“Get in, Sam. This is just the tip of the iceberg,”

Sam heard Clinton’s voice coming from inside the Rolls Royce and walked briskly to it. This was like a dream, he had never entered an expensive Mercedes before not to talk of sitting inside a Rolls Royce. One of the most expensive cars in the world.

He didn’t remember telling Clinton his name, how did he figure that out? Sam thought, but that wasn’t really important at this point in time.

Sam admired the embellishment of the interior of the car, the luxurious designs; he couldn’t help but stare at everything like a twelve-year-old who got into Disney land for the first time.

Sitting opposite him was Clinton, who was watching as Sam looked lost in his admiration of the luxurious vehicle, the car started to move, and then Clinton decided to bring back Sam’s attention to the real world.

“Snap out of it Sam, you’re yet to see the real deal,” Clinton laughed, relaxing on the orange leather chair, with one leg crossed over the other.

“This isn’t true, or maybe I am dreaming!” Sam exclaimed, at this moment; he had suddenly forgotten about the pain in his heart, the overwhelmedness had taken over his thinking faculty. He couldn’t even reason straight.

Everything was happening so fast, and it was too good to be true.

“If this is a kidnap, please tell me; I have nothing to give,” Sam added, his eyes holding Clinton’s.

“This isn’t a kidnap Sam, It isn’t a dream or your imagination either, this is the reality,” Clinton clarified and chuckled lightly.

Sam stared at him in disbelief, there was no way he’d be able to take in all of these at once, it was too fast.

“Don’t overthink it, Sam. We are taking you to one of the mansions you’d be staying in the meantime,”

“C’mon, that’s definitely a bluff,” Sam waved it off, trying his best to think straight.

If he embraced all these too quickly, he might get overly disappointed in the end. This is a kind of prank or something, but who was pulling the prank? Sam thought.

Clinton smiled, he picked up his cell phone, dialed a number, and as soon as the receiver picked up, he spoke inaudibly to the man on the other end.

Sam couldn’t get hold of what Clinton was saying, as he was facing the other way, covering the movement of his lips with one hand. He gazed at Clinton curiously till he hung up and faced him back.

“What was that?” Sam quickly asked, a little scared. Maybe the kidnap was true after all. But a kidnap with this kind of luxurious vehicle was almost not true; Sam concluded by himself.

“You’ll see soon enough,” Clinton grinned awkwardly like he was waiting for something to happen.

Sam felt his cell phone vibrate in his pant pocket, he brought it out and stared at the screen, and let out a sudden gasp.

“How is this even possible?” Sam questioned, his eyes wide in shock and astonishment.

He was seeing the figures clearly, it was a whooping hundred million dollars. The bank might query him for such a huge amount of money entering his bank account all at once.

“Now, do you believe that this is real?” Clinton asked.

Sam was still staring at his phone in uttermost surprise, he raised his gaze and they met with Clinton’s; he then gave a positive slow nod.

Sam wanted to believe all that was happening, he wanted to own it, but it was too much to handle. Just in the blink of an eye, he was a hundred million dollars rich, he could buy several of the cars he was in now.

“What do you mean by the young master, and how am I this rich; who am I related to?” Sam finally started asking the relevant questions.

If he was having this kind of sudden change in his life, then he was definitely related to a rich family somehow, this kind of thing doesn’t happen overnight.

“Now you are asking the right questions, Samuel Jonathan,” Clinton called Sam’s complete legal name, surprising him once again.

“How do you know that?”

“I know many things Sam, how did I get your account number to send you a hundred million dollars? How did I know you’d be at the restaurant? How do I know your ex-girlfriend is Amelia Bruce? Many things Sam, I know it all,” Clinton replied, with a big smile.

Sam was left in awe, “Have you been stalking me?”

“Well, I won’t call it stalking, you’re the master’s long-lost little brother, Sam, I just got to know that a few months ago, and was asked to bring you in at the right time, and I guess this is the right time.”

“Your family is the richest in this city Sam, there’s nothing in this world, that can make you poor ever again,” Clinton assured, leaning towards Sam.

This is Los Angeles! And his family was the richest? That couldn’t be true, Sam thought. It was so difficult to assimilate everything all at once. He closed his eyes for a few minutes, trying to comprehend what his ears had heard.

“We are here already,”

The voice jolted Sam back from his thoughts, the car door opened, and Clinton gestured to him to alight first.

Sam obeyed, and as soon as he stepped out, he recognized the luxurious Villa at once, Amelia had told him of this place, once again, the expression on Sam’s face was priceless; he never imagined that one day he’d be living here.

“This would be your new home for now, Sam.” Clinton smiled, buttoning up his blazers.

For now? Sam thought, was there more? He uttered in his mind as he admired the beautiful villa….
