CHAPTER 6- UNFAMILIAR HOME

“Poppy, wait.” I called out to her as she rushed away from me.

The crowd was going in the direction of the fight, but we were not. She was headed to the back door of the school, and I needed to speak to her. To apologise. I was dreading what I was going to tell her when we met next because I was wrong. She would never have done that to me, and I was selfish. She needed to understand that at that moment, I needed to leave. I knew she was going to try and convince me to stay. I could not let that happen.

We reached the end of the hallway, near the backdoor. She reached to open the door and it was locked. She paused, sighed, then turned to look at me. There was no emotion on her face. She was pissed at me and I didn't even know where to start apologizing. She was my only real friend in the world. She was with me when I was a nobody, and I was not just going to let it be the end of our friendship.

“Isn’t it obvious that I just don’t want to see your face?” She raised a brow, fold
