Chapter 02:

•PARIS•

I woke up with a heavy heart, my body was still aching due to the sexual activity we did earlier. I want to rest until morning but I can't be lazy and be a prisoner here until the end of my life, because I am aware that if this alpha knew about our conspiracy, we would suffer the punishment. And also Alena will be here later so I really need to go.

I looked around surveying the room before picking up my clothes beside the bed. I need to be careful, Lucas is still here. If he knows that I'll be leaving without his consent, I am sure that Montessori's reputation will be in danger and I'll be the one to suffer from it.

My heart is pounding though I know that Alena is outside and waiting for me to come out to change places, my heart and soul is still not at ease.

All I can think at this moment is that I just need to be careful not to be noticed by Lucas or else I'll be dead.

Today I'll ask the Montessori's to give me my freedom since I'm already done with the job they've given me. I give Paris' purity for them to be part of McWood's Clan, so I think that's enough payment for it.

I want to be Catalina again, though with this new life it's hard to be myself but I want to have a new beginning. I'll start all over again without Paris' family—but I think the owner of this body won't hate that thought since she hated them since the day her mom died.

"Where should I go after this?" I asked myself while walking my way to the door. I know some memories of Paris but with these memories I don't know if it will help me locate their house.

I grabbed the doorknob ready to open the door, when I heard a faint sound—No, it's more like the breathing of someone behind me, and I can only suspect Lucas since we are the only ones inside this huge room. But… Is he awake? What should I do? Will he let me go?

"Where do you think you're going, Miss Montessori?" My eyes widened when I heard Lucas' voice.

I quickly cover my face with the tangled veil. I can't let him see Paris's face or else it will be the death of me. "I-I want to pee," I bravely said, but then I was betrayed with the tone of my voice, it was as if it wanted to surrender immediately to the man at my back.

"Pee? Don't you think it's a funny excuse, Montessori?" He let out a small chuckle. I bite my lips while trying to control my trembling body. I am fine, if the only thing I feel right now is fear, but this strange sensation and tingling feeling inside my heart is also foreign to me. "Why don't you pee here? The room has its own comfort room?"

"I need to go home today. I miss my parents—"

"But you've been mine since yesterday, Alena. You can't escape from my place—"

I smirked when I heard the name he mentioned. Of course, Alena is his soon to be luna and wife, but until now he doesn't recognize me nor Alena.

"Escape what? My parents want this marriage. So, why do you think I'll be leaving this place for good? I just want to see my parents again."

"You'll stay here. I want you to be with me—"

"Please, Alpha Lucas, I'm begging you. Let me go, I need to see my parents today or I'll go crazy." I tried every reason I can give just to stay away from him. After the intercourse I thought that I'll hate him to death, but I didn't because my feelings are just neutral. Maybe, just maybe that Paris has romantic feelings for him, but she's still in denial because of his personality?

I almost jumped from my place when he touched my shoulders. "Only if you let me see your face, Alena." Why did he become like this? I remember him yesterday as an aggressive man—and a man who hates me for being here.

"I can't do that, if you have your tradition, the southeast clan do have one too. It is to hide the bride's face until the wedding happens." It's not real but It's the only way I can think to convince him.

If this reason is not believable then I think I can't do anything about it. "Well, I'm your future alpha and do you think I do mind about those rules—"

"Alpha Lucas, we need you. The rogues are wandering around the western borders and some of them did harm our livestock."

I want to shout due to happiness but I calm myself. If Lucas knows about my reaction, I am sure that he will insist that I'll stay here tonight.

My heart skips again when his hand grabs my hand while holding the doorknob. Only Azrael gives me this kind of feeling and I never thought, not even once, that someone aside from Azrael would let me feel this too.

"Do you really need to go tonight?" he asked, his voice so calm like a sea without a storm. I can feel his warm breath on my shoulder. I admit that it sent shivers down my spine, and before I can think of something to argue, he talked again, "You can stay—"

"Please? I am new to this, so please—"

"Okay fine, I'll let you go but Tan needs to go with you. You are the future luna of this clan so we need to secure your safety, especially today that rogues are hunting for their prey. Do you understand, My Luna?"

Goosebumps, his words give me goosebumps and I don't know why. I'm scared of this warmth, I want this to end very soon. And with that reason I nodded my head without words coming from my mouth, not even a single moan.

He smiled and patted my head before opening the door. A man in his twenties with auburn hair showed up.

"Good morning, Alpha, I want—"

"Pay respect to your future Luna, Tan." A man named Tan looked at me with wide eyes. Though he can't see my face, I can see his reaction very well.

"You've changed, Alpha Lucas, I thought that you—" He stopped in the middle of his sentence and looked at me again. "Good morning, Luna." I heard disappointment from his tone but I couldn't care less since I will only stay here for today. Alena will do the job to gain their trust and be part of this clan, exciting drama isn't it?

"Tan, let's talk after you drop off Alena."

"Noted, Alpha, but the Rogues on the west borders…"

"Don't worry, I'll go there after this," he replied to Tan, before looking at me.

"Then we're going, Alpha." I turned around immediately without saying goodbye, but before I could step forward I heard him calling Tan's name.

"I'm warning you, Tan, don't touch or take off her veil. Don't look at her face, not even a glance." I almost rolled my eyes in annoyance. Tan just let out a deep sigh before nodding his head. "Now go, please be careful, my trusted beta. I'll see you soon, Luna Alena."

'You'll be happy to see her later in your room,' I uttered silently. I don't know if Tan heard me but I saw him glancing at my side. Since he's not saying a word then I'm fine with that, anyway he doesn't like me as her luna.

STRETCHING my arms and legs after a long ride feels like heaven. We're not yet at the southeast clan but I already feel tired.

"Your car is such a headache," I whined irritably. "Can't you buy a new one?"

It's an old model car and I don't know the name of it but riding it is a hassle, especially for a long trip.

"What are you saying this is a new model—"

"What? Are you crazy?" I tapped my forehead when I forgot that I'm in a new world. But what kind of a world is this? While traveling I only saw trees, nothing more. They're werewolves. I am aware of that since earlier today, but wolves in books do have a thing we owned in my previous world and they're also living in the human world. I shook my head when I watched Tan getting out of the car completely. "Anyway, do you have some water?"

I raised my veil to drink some water he handed, when I realized that he was still looking at me. I almost dropped the bottled water in fear, fortunately he spoke before it happened.

"I'm sorry, Luna, I didn't see that coming—"

"Do you mean that it's my fault? Will you share these events with your alpha?" I asked. I think Tan won't do that since there will be a punishment waiting if he does that. I smiled when I saw him shaking his head. "Good, now let's go home. I want to see my wonderful parents." Sarcasm is visible in my voice.

"Your wish is my command, Luna." I nodded my head and went back to the car.

"LUNA, wake up, we're here." I opened my eyes when the shaking became uncontrollable.

"What are you doing, Tan? Are you in a hurry?" He stopped and scratched the back of his head.

"I'm sorry, Luna, I thought you wanted to come out immediately to rest at your house." I sighed and waved my hand, before getting out of the car. "I need to go, and Alpha Lucas ordered me to tell you 'be careful' that's all, Luna."

He ran back to the driver's seat and bid his goodbye before leaving.

"This is the last one and you'll be free Catalina!" I jumped happily and opened the wooden gate. As I expected based on Paris's memories, her relatives are not happy to see her, especially the mom of Alena.

"What are you doing here? I told you to get lost after you've done your job." I'm lost for words, I expected that maybe I can get just a little thank you or a reward because of what I've done for them, but really this family sucks!

"I need to get my payments and baggage before I leave or else I'll tell Lucas about this." I saw her glare at me but I just shrugged my shoulders and walked past them.

I'm not Paris Montessori, I'm Catalina Weinrich, a brave soul. I won't back down because of your attitude.
