I sighed deeply, slamming the door to my Mercedes. Keys clanked in my hands as I unlocked my door, waking in, my previous conversation with Phoenix still fresh in my mind.

She was back.

I was happy

Or at least I was supposed to be except something didn't feel right.

And I knew Jackson knew so too.

I dropped my keys abruptly, jumping almost five metres backwards when I saw Jacqueline seated cross legged on my sofa.

She waved innocently.

'You took forever' she remarked albeit thoughtfully.

I nodded.

'I was with Phoenix. What are you doing here' I asked her.

She looked at me, confused.

'I am your mate Caleb. I have every right to be here' she answered slowly, looking hurt.

I walked up to her, taking a seat beside her.

'I was thinking of leaving' I told her.

She looked up

'And...'

I sighed.

'I want to go back to my restaurant' I told her honestly.

She turned to me.

'what about me' she asked, her eyes clouding with tears.
