Chapter Forty-Three
Kyra-
“Wake up my dear. It is time to open your eyes.” That deep gravelly voice spoke, as soon as I felt the wolfsbane start to wear off.
My head was killing me, and I felt like I had been punched in the gut. Slowly I opened my eyes and my vision blurred. It was as if I was seeing two of the same man. Groaning, I tried to sit up, but I felt restraints holding my arms and legs in place.
“Tsk tsk. No no. You stay right there. I can’t have you shifting again.” The man spoke.
Shifting again? I didn’t even know I had shifted in the first place. I tried to call out to Alexia, but I couldn’t even sense her, panicked I started pulling at my restraints. trying to break free. My efforts were in vain, I felt groggy and weak like I was drugged.
“W-where am I?” I asked, though my throat felt coarse and dry.

Caleb- The next morning finally rolled around and I stood up from the floor, I had dozed off for maybe an hour. It hadn’t been very long, but I felt refreshed. Pressing my ear to the door, I listened for any commotion, I heard muffled voices but couldn’t make out their words. I could tell that it was the Alpha and some woman, but I couldn’t be sure. Opening the door, as quietly as I could, I didn’t open the door all the way, just enough so I could peak my eye through the opening. Caleb- The moment has arrived. Kyra gave a subtle nod, and I knew she had enough of the drug out of her system now. Just in the nick of time too, the Alpha had started the ceremony and was just about to mark her, I leaped up onto the alter and rammed into his side, causing him to crash onto the ground. Aiden, Kelly, and Shawn had positioned themselves to stand in front to keep anyone from interfering. “She is not yours!” I bellowed, just before my clothes shredded from my body and I shifted into my wolf. Kyra- “There has to be something you can do.” I pleaded with the doctor as soon as we were in the vehicle. Caleb was laying with his head on my lap, while the doctor was trying to stop the bleeding, and stitch him up at the same time. Hunter was driving and his Gamma and Brett were in the vehicle as well, everyone else ran on foot to the nearest town to rent another vehicle, there just wasn’t enough room for everyone. Kyra- We were back on the road, this time with me in the front with Hunter. I had explained to him what had happened, and he didn’t say a word about it. Hunter- The entire way home, my emotions were in a spiraling mess. I was relieved she was safe, I was angry she left, I was happy to have her back, I was annoyed that she was now bonded with Caleb and Brett, I was confused about her sudden change in demeanor, mostly I was pissed that I didn’t know if I had killed the Alpha of Crescent Moon. Hunter- It has been nearly a week since I got Kyra back and as much as I would like to say that it has been the greatest week of my life, I’d be lying. It has been complete Hell. Every time Kyra falls asleep, she is hit with nightmares so intense that I haven’t been able to sleep. Not to mention I have been woken up by a fire starting on the bed, twice. We have tried many things to try to ease her so she could get some rest, I have even let Caleb and Brett sleep in the room with us, just not on the bed. I haven’t been able to hold her at night like I had wanted to. By the time I get up to the room after working late every night, she has been sleeping already.
