I turned to the Elf and wondered if I had heard correctly since he didn't react at first. It took a few seconds but he seemed to catch on and sighed.
"My tribe has great knowledge of many medical advances, far beyond your kind." I heard Kira scoff from her spot and I too felt a little skeptical of his claims.
He saves me and now thinks he's better than everyone?
Don't mind him, Ava. Cade scoffed over the link. Elves are known to be... egocentric. This one seems to be especially snarky.
I took note of Cade's remark and sighed to myself. Another jackass to take care of... great. The Elf seemed to pick up on my hesitation and tried a gentler approach.
"Listen, I know your... species and I don't see eye to eye, but you didn't eat me so far, so consider it as a gift.
- A gift?" Ryder growled, arching a brow. "Ha, what kind of gift can your kind possibly give-Nnn!!!" In the blink of an eye, Ryder found himself fac
I woke up to the sound of gentle steps, all the while my face and arms were tickled by the touch of a warm pelt. I yawned, and outstretched my arms. Morning Luna.Cade's voice echoed over the link, and I instantly recognized the blond Wolf to be him as he gazed over his shoulder with a wolfy grin. It all came back to me. After hours of travelling, I could barely stand on my feet. But Ciel insisted we continue overnight so Cade allowed me to rest on his back while we travelled. Although my entire body felt sour as a rock, I was grateful I was able to get a little sleep. I chuckled.Morning. I gazed around and spotted Jace, still unconscious and arms dangling from Winston's sides. I could hear his teeth clank with shivers and he looked incredibly pale. I honestly couldn't tell if his condition had gotten worse, but he definitely wasn't getting any better. Kira was by Cade's side so I gazed towards her. "Ho
The pack gathered into a small group at the center of the clearing while the enemy closed in on us, armed with bows and a few spears. "Close them in!" Called one of the elves, while he and his compatriots continued to move forward. I gazed around, realizing we were trapped. "What's the meaning of all this!?" I shouted, alerted by their hostility. The elves ceased their movement at my words and seemed to gaze but I couldn't quite depict their emotion. From my left, I noticed Cade also had a confused look, but I didn't pay much attention to it and focused more on the situation at hand. We were startled when the sound of large hooves trampling the ground approached and, bursting from the bushes, an enormous white deer with golden antlers trotted towards us. Immediately, the surroundings troops went in "garde-a-vous". As the deer walked by, I noticed a raven haired elf was seated on it's back, his leafy green eyes starring down at me. Ciel was mounting an enormou
Ciel gently held my arm as we made our way beneath the gigantic tree towards its center while the remaining guards and the Raven haired guided the pack towards what I had to assume were the dungeons. As I turned my gaze back ahead, I noticed multiple large roots dangled from beneath, most large enough for a human to sit on. "Sit down." Gestured Ciel to one of the roots and I sat down, a little unsettled at first as I adjusted my balance. He smiled and I think he was trying to reassure me but it just came out as really awkward. "Don't let go." Oh trust me, I wouldn't let go of this thing even if my hand was chopped off... I nodded at his words and he placed his palm against the rough surface of the root. His palm started to emanate a green hue and the root suddenly started to lift itself up with me sitting on it. I was startled and amazed at the same time, clutching my grasp around the roots so I wouldn't fall. It took a while to reach the actual entrance, but
"Son." The raven haired elf nodded to Ciel, then settled his icy blue eyes on me. "This is the female you spoke about?" His voice boomed across the room, and sounded much more menacing now that we were in a closed area. Even my Wolf felt a little intimated but she stood her ground and lent me her courage. I looked down and gave a clumsy bow. "Your majesty."Is that what I'm supposed to say...? I've never been in front if royalty before... When I stood back up, the white haired queen stood up and walked down the steps towards me. She gently passed her hand across my cheek, then gazed at my eyes, my face and my body, apparently examining or assessing me. Although she was quite meticulous, I could feel some sort of strong emotion emanate from her... something similar to grief or nostalgia... Could it be that I reminded her
I smiled at Valor's words and Ciel kindly pulled out a chair for me while his parents sat down. I took my seat, facing the king and queen, while Ciel sat down beside me. The table was decorated with fruits, veggies and cheeses of all kinds, some I've never seen before in my life, actually. Star shaped green fruits, red spiky ones, pineapples, grapes, apples, strawberries, name it! They had it all. Yet their wasn't a single scrap of meat anywhere, nothing even close to it. Despite my Wolf's whimpers for her favorite treat, I subdued her demands and didn't ask, by sheer politeness. Guess the royal family is vegetarian...? "This looks delicious." I complimented, waiting for the king and queen to take their food. Instead they simply looked at me, smiling calmly which made me all the more uncomfortable.
I don't know how much time had passed since I was locked up in my room, but it felt like an eternity. Nobody answered my calls over the link and after what I think was an hour at most, I gave up and slumped at the edge of my bed. I had already checked every inch of the room which only confirmed it was pointless to even try to escape; the window was way too high to jump out of and the door way was covered with thorns, not to mention the two elven guards posted there. I was completely isolated from the world with no one to turn to. I event tried to get information from the guards, or at least know what I did wrong, but none of them even moved or seemed to acknowledge my presence. I don't know how many hours I spent in that room, but finally, I heard movement at the front of my doorway, on the other side of the vines. "At ease." I heard the voice of King Valor say as a response to the guards and the vines retracted into the wall as I stood up, gazing at the King while h
Clinging for dear life, I watched as Zed clawed and ripped at the monster's back, tearing its flesh apart as it tried to shake itself free. The monster then swung its giant arm and clamped it's claws into Zed's shoulder, sending the scout flying into a tree. To my horror, Zed's body went limp on impact, blood seeping out of a wound on his head, but I couldn't tell whether he was dead or unconscious. Enraged, I heard Cade growl before he jumped head first to attack, while the monster blindly charged at Zed for a finishing move. I watched as Cade fought claw to claw with the beast, somehow unable to move from my spot. As he went for the throat, Cade was attacked from the side and pinned to the ground, the creature holding his head down with his powerful paw. A yelp of pain escaped the blond wolf's throat, but my eyes couldn't move away from the beast. As hard as I tried, I was no longer in control, somehow, it felt like my Wolf had taken over my body and no longer answ
