Chapter Twenty eight

"What message do you come bearing?" Jason asks her.

"There is a woman here with her daughter, she seeks the supreme's audience, your grace."

"A woman with her daughter, What woman is this?" Jason asks.

"She says she has a debt to pay to the supreme, your grace."

"Oh, that must be Samantha," Katrina mutters and Sarah nods.

Sarah stands up, "What is she here for though? Let's go see." Katrina gets up and they head for the door together.

"Maybe you both would like to explain who this Samantha is to me," Jason says in a voice that broods no argument.

"Jason. She's just a woman we met on the street about two weeks ago, her daughter almost got hit and I helped. I also sent her, a pair of boots, she loved them." Sarah explains.

Jason looks at both of them like they're aliens, "You sent a woman a pair of boots?"

Sarah sighs, "not a woman, a little girl, her name is Sapphire. The girl loved my boots so I sent her a pair of boots. She's waiting, can we go now?"

"We can, we certainly can. I didn
