2. Deadly Silence

I woke up with my phone ringing. I tried ignoring the sound. I really did, but the person ringing couldn't get a fricking hint.

I sighed fully awake. I looked at the time it was fudging 6 in the morning but the noise wasn't ceaseing, so I got up and looked at Aaron and saw he was sleeping peacefully - that little guy wasn't even fazed by the noise. I smiled and my phone stopped, seriously couldn't you have stopped it before I got up, I mean come on, sometimes people are so annoying.

When I was about to lie down again, thinking that I can call whoever the hell was calling me later, the phone rang again.

Serious-fudging-ly. And my phone was in the fricking living room.

An important fact never ever leave your fricking phone in the living room not if you don't want to exercise at 6 fricking am.

And trust me when I say I don't want to get up but I also don't want to wake my baby up, which is kinda impossible because nothing can wake him up until he wants to but still I got up and finally answered the call without looking who was calling.

"Hello!"

Silence.

Nobady answered.

Ugh!

"Who the fudge is this? You can't do this for your whole life. I should have guessed it was you. Stalker! Stop calling me. Just drop it. It's creepy dude."

The other line still stayed silent.

"What the fudge is your problem? Why can't you just stalk me in the evening or even night, anything but morning. I mean come on, I am not a morning person, so just drop it." I said and cut the call.

This jerk!

Someone has beem calling me for a long time now and whenever I asked who was there? There was just this freaking silence. Do you guys know what the hell I hate the most?

Yup, you all are right. It's silence. I just hate silence. I don't even know why I hate it so much!

Shut up, you do. It's because of this very damn guy.

I can't even block their number - they always end up calling me by another number.

I got back to my bed not in the mood to sleep anymore. I looked at Aaron and started thinking - which never went well.

Aaron is small and can't talk but what happens when he grows up, starts asking questions - questions I don't have answers for. What if he asks about his father? What should I tell him?

Should I play the your-father-is-dead card? Or that he left to get the milk?

I have no idea. I sighed.

What happens if he starts getting jealous of others for having both their parents in a parent-teacher meeting or just in general? I mean, I hated not having my mom there and I was eighteen, he is just a child. My child!

No, I wouldn't let my son be jealous of a basic necessity.

But what can I do? I can't let my son grow up in that sick mafia world. And most importantly, I can't share him.

My train of thoughts was cut short when the demon-child started crying like a, well, demon.

With a smile, I went over to him and calmed him down, by picking him up and rubbing his back in a soothing way.

I left him on the bed with some toys and did my routine. After that, I went downstairs and gave Aaron his chocolate milk and made a fried-egg for myself. We talked, mostly him. He was explaining something from yesterday which I didn't understand.

Yesterday we, me, Aaron and my neighbor, Elizabeth went to the mall.

Aaron and I had to buy somethings for Olivia, my adopted child, who is coming back tonight from holidays with her biological grandmother from her mother's side.

She was just seven when her biological mother, and one of my favorite neighbor and friend, died in a car accident. Olivia's father was a drug addict and didn't want anything to do with her. Her family didn't either so I adopted her.

Elizabeth decided to join us because she wanted to buy somethings as well.

"Beh beh rggg ruh," So, Aaron was telling his story to Sam and Anna and Anna, being the amazing person she was, was ignoring him completely, but Sam being, well, Sam was enjoying herself and was really acting like she knew everything he was talking about.

"Oh really and what did you do?" Sam asked.

"Oh god! These two are gonna make me go crazy." Anna voiced her thoughts, eyeing Sam like she had finally lost her last brain cell.

I nodded my head, scrunching up my face in their direction.

"Anna, you are not allowed to leave this house." She looked like she was planning on leaving the moment I left the house, so I popped her bubble.

I was leaving for job interviews, because I wanted to leave my current job. It was a job as a waitress in a cafe, but I wasn't getting enough pay and I wanted to give my babies everything they wanted and for that I had to make more money for them.

So, my best friends were babysitting Aaron. We became besties in high school.

I would never tell them, but I love these two idiots.

Anna had waist-length wavy-curly ish dark brown hair with dark brown eyes, contrasting her olive skin tone. Anna has a kind of serious personality and that's why I trusted her, because she was the more responsible one.

On the other hand, Sam is a totally different case. She is a time bomb. She is a child living in a woman's body. She has this bubbly personality. Sam has light blond hair with green eyes and white skin.

" Ok guys, I am leaving now." I gave Aaron a kiss and Anna and Sam a hug. "Bye everyone."

"Bye," They all yelled.

So right now I was standing in front of my last interview building. After this interview I was free. I was so happy to go home to see my baby and we had yet to prepare dinner for Olivia.

I entered the building.

I told the receptionist that I was here for the interview. She told me to wait for my name to be called.

"Vivianna Violet," the receptionist called.

I got up, "That's me!"

"You have to go to the 20th floor and then ask the receptionist about where the interview is."

I entered the elevator, my heart beating really fast. Why was I acting like that? It's probably because I am nervous.

I stepped out of the elevator and went to the receptionist's desk. She was on the phone, so I kept quiet and observed her. She was pretty, her dress screamed professional, but I was getting these bad vibes from her. She ended her call and looked at me, like she literally checked me out, and then shook her head like she didn't approve of me.

Oh really female-dog, I didn't even ask for your approval and I understand now why I was getting those vibes from her.

"I am here for the interview." I said in the most professional way I could manage.

"Oh! You are here for the interview," she said with distaste, "Well, Alice here will show you to the room."

Alice showed me the room and I knocked when I heard a 'come in', I entered the room. The office was so neat and clean and there was a man sitting on the chair in the exact center of the office.

"Good afternoon Miss..." he left the sentence for me to complete.

"Vivianna. Vivianna Violet." I told him.

"Good afternoon, Miss Vivianna. Please sit."

"Good afternoon, Sir."

"Oh please just call me Adrien."

"Sure."

"Show me your files!" I did as I was told. He interviewed me but something happened...

We were in the middle of our interview when someone entered without even knocking.

"I am leaving for business. If I get some important call, handle it." Whoever entered the door muttered, but the voice was so familiar.

"Why do I have to handle them?" Adrian complained.

"Because it is your fault I don't have an assistant," The mysterious guy answered.

I cleared my throat, reminding Adrian that I was here.

Big mistake.

I repeat big mistake.

"Who is she?" The guy asked.

Before Adrian could say anything I turned around standing up, eager to impress. "I am Vivi...." My words died in my throat.

I froze.

"Violà?"
