Chapter 47

KAYLA'S POV

Present day

I stirred awake, staring at my alarm clock. The hardest part of being a single mother to me, was waking up and preparing your child for school whilst preparing yourself for work. I didn't know if women who still had husbands in their lives realized how difficult it was.

The dealing with your child's incessant morning problems while trying to figure out a way to handle your own. It drove most single mothers crazy, but I wasn't that single mother. And also, my child, Liam wasn't just any child. He was well trained, and even if he was a chatterbox and a package of behaving as if he was older, he was still a gem regardless.

Ditching my bed clothes, I headed for his room. I opened the door and there he was on the bed, snoring slightly, his mouth open and drool escaping from it. I knew if I told him when he was awake that he had been drooling, he would never accept. That was the extent of Liam’s argument on a daily basis.
