CHAPTER 7: War of Love

“Acadia.” Mr. Dante said as he stood in front of me. I turned towards him.

“Mr. Dante” his eyes moved to Anderson and his hands, still on my waist. I watched his mouth subtly fold up in a frown. Was he mad that I brought a date on a business trip?

“Who is this? He asked. It sounded a little rude but he was my boss, and I wouldn't be here if he didn’t approve of it.

I fidgeted and looked at Anderson. “This is Anderson, my old time friend. We met at the hotel.” I offered the explanation not that it was necessary. But something about the way Mr. Dante was looking at me propelled me to clear up any misunderstanding. Mr. Dante’s eyes got dark with emotions for a split second and it was gone. Am I imagining things now?
