Trinity decided she was going to have to leave Dmitri. 

If she told him that Samantha was pregnant with his child, he'd be ready to take full responsibility of the child in a heartbeat, but he wouldn't leave Trinity to be with Samantha.

But Trinity didn't want that for his and Samantha's child. She wanted their child to know what it meant to have truly loving parents. 

Only someone who hadn't had the love of their parents growing up could understand what it felt like to not have a normal family. 

If she didn't leave Dmitri, then the child would have to divide his or her time between two parents who lived miles apart.
