Meeting The Alpha Heir

ODEYA

The sadness that comes with losing a best friend must be one of the greatest heartbreak in the universe. Katya Bernard was my best friend who left without warning or goodbye, she just disappeared. Ever since I had no companion; no one to share my thoughts with.

Nevertheless, I had a perfect family. Everything about my family and pack was beautiful except the stupid rule the Alpha made. Women are not allowed to train, fight and join in battlefields? When that's exactly what I love to do.

My dad was the pack warrior, he took over the position after the death of my mom’s father. I see my father train young men ever since I knew how to identify things. I fell in love with the training and even begged my dad to join them several times but he kept telling me that only men are allowed to train.

Now that's exactly what led me to the bushes to train alone. I watched my father since I was three, and I knew the basics. Now, ten years later I was applying the techniques.

However, as I was training on my own, I heard muffled footsteps coming over. This made me stop and my eyes ran over to the direction the sound came from; I furrowed my brow focusing on that path.

My heart beat fast in my chest because no one had ever been there, this was the deepest part of the forest. Also, I must never be caught training. Before I could react or do anything, long hands part the thickened grasses in front of me, and to my shock, I saw the prince of the pack. Prince Herald.

My eyes widened. The prince was just as wicked as his father according to what I heard.

Would I be killed? My heart thumped fast in my chest.

Almost immediately, without saying a word, I fell to my knees and started to beg.

“Please spare me, please spare me. Don't kill me, don't kill me!” I begged. I was honestly scared for my life.

“What are you doing right now?” I heard the voice of the young boy in front of me. When I opened my eyes, I saw that he had neared me and this made me flinch.

Gently, Prince Herald bent over to match my level and I pushed back.

“You are one of those that assume I am just like my father, isn't it?” He asked, his eyes mirroring mine. They were extremely gorgeous and I couldn't bare to look into them fully.

Still, I wondered what he meant. Isn't he like his father? That was the rumor that the next Alpha would be worse than his father because of how arrogant and wicked he was.

“That is what everyone says, majority carries the vote.” I moved backward because his face was really into mine. I didn't want my first kiss to go with a man I might never see again.

Herald scowled and straightened up before going to sit at the nearest tree, I watched him, confused about what he was doing.

“Train, you entertain me. That's the least you can do if you want me to keep my mouth zipped,” he uttered arrogantly and I am forced to roll my eyes. The people are right, he would be worse than his father.

“Are you sure if you watch me train, you won't tell on me?” I asked, looking at him. By this time he had closed his eyes, and a calm and peaceful expression remained on his face.

My heart tugged but I was quick to shun it.

“That is if you don't continue to bore me with your talking,” he uttered softly but it still sounded in my ears like war.

Rolling my eyes again, I started to train. I looked at him again and saw that his eyes were closed hence I frowned.

“It doesn't look like you're interested in watching me!” I paused, still looking at him, hoping he’d go home.

“Continue,” he uttered softly and I sighed before proceeding.

He was closing his eyes yet he wanted me to train in front of him? Arrogant fool!

I continued to practice for thirty minutes and at some point, I forgot that Herald was there.

“You hold your sword with your left better than your right, why do you use your right?” His voice sounded behind me. I turned and saw him looking at me with his equally gorgeous eyes. A man as arrogant as him shouldn't look this good.

I looked away as his eyes were pulling me in.

“Everyone fights with their right hand,” I replied to him truthfully. Ever since I started lifting swords, I realized it was only easier with my left but harder with my right. If anyone saw me using my left hand, they would call me strange; this was the reason I preferred training with my right although it was difficult.

Then Herald stood, I was looking at him with my side eyes. He started walking toward me.

Why was he walking toward me? I asked myself internally, my heart beating fast in my chest.

When he got to me, I was forced to look at him.

“That makes you unique, you should be happy. Everyone wants to be unique when it comes to fighting but here you are, born with it,” he uttered gently and then slid one hand around my waist before turning me to face the tree I was training with.

“I can train you to use your gifted hand comfortably,” he whispered. My breath came out of me erratically as his breath touched my neck, they smell so good. He was delicious, I wanted to eat him there.

Oh no, what's wrong with me?!

Softly, Herald took my left hand in one of his and started using it to fight the tree. He whispered in my ears and used his other hand on my waist to control the movement of my body.

Goddess knows I wasn't listening to what he was saying. His hands on my body were sending bastard tingles all through my core. There was a crazy rush of dopamine in my system.

“And then you swipe like this...” saying those words, he turned me around abruptly making my face a few inches away from his.

He was staring at me just the way I was doing, his breath fell on my face deliciously. I had to hold myself from licking the air.

His fingers on my waist were now moving slightly, drawing circles behind me. Why was he touching me like this? Why was his touch the best I have ever felt?

“Do you want me to kiss you?” He asked, he was only two years older than I am but he seemed a lot more mature. His voice was quite thick and this sent me to a world filled with pleasure. I closed my eyes and expected his lips on mine, I wanted it badly. It wasn't the first time I was seeing Herald, we attend the same school although his class was private. I see him once in a Blue Moon and every time I did, my heart tugged in my chest. I had riled this feeling in until now.

“Kiss me...”
