Ethena's POV

I stared at my reflection, grimacing before smiling bitterly at my outfit. Though my suit was all rumpled up and drenched with my sweat and tears, It reminded me of how stupid I had been over the years.

My father had used me and had dumped me the moment he had the chance, lifting Amira up instead.Someone who didn't deserve It. Someone who never even worked for It.

All those years when I could have enjoyed my childhood and made friends, when I could have enjoyed my teenage years, gone to parties and turned wild, I was acting like the perfect daughter, not knowing a day like this would come when all my hard work would be thrown out of the window like a handful of sand.

Smirking, I dragged the tie from my neck before throwing It to the floor, and soon, the rest of my clothes followed with It. After a good scrub and bath, I tried to forget everything that happened tonight and just focus on myself.

Few minutes later, I was staring at a different version of myself, dressed in one of my floor length dinner gowns, but this time, pieces of It were lying on the floor as I had turned It to a mini dress so short, my whole thighs were in view for the world to see.

I put on heavy makeup, wore my thigh high boots and left my hair running down my shoulders unattended before I left the house with my car keys.

As I went into my car, shutting the door beside me, I caught sight of my reflection and a cruel bitter smile set in as I felt mixed emotions.

If someone had told me years ago that I would be in this situation, I would have laughed in their face, but look at me now, dressed like a slut and ready to head to a night party with the intention of getting drunk and probably losing my virginity to a creep I wouldn't know.

On reaching the club, I could feel fear forming in my heart staring at the crowded place with flashy disco lights, music and horny people, but remembering the reason I was here, I boldly walked in, my head raised high.

I could feel the eyes trailing after me as I headed straight for the bar before taking a seat.

I was still as nervous as hell, knowing some eyes were on me now, but I took a tentative look around the club, taking note of the surroundings and accessing the place.

A tactic I had learnt from my father when I had entered an unfamiliar environment.

Observe, access and blend In.

The dance area was the main spotlight of the place and self explanatory since the place was crowded with men and women of different race, colors and sizes. I could smell humans and shifters in one place so I had to be careful here.

The disco light was blazing red, neon green and blue all over the place, and It was really difficult to see some faces as the place was almost pitch black but for the lights.

At the side was a small eatery and then the bar where I sat. The eatery had a long couch which I grimaced at seeing women stripping right in front of men who looked old enough to birth them.

But I had forgotten that this was a club and no one cared about what they were doing or what you were doing. Everyone was minding their business and would only consider talking to you If they were in the mood.

I suddenly froze, feeling someone's eyes on me. People were looking at me for sure, but this particular person's gaze on me made me uncomfortable. I turned in my seat several times but I couldn't find the particular person.

For a brief moment, in the eatery, I thought I spotted cerulean blue eyes, but once I blinked, It disappeared like I had imagined It.

Strange.

After a while, I felt something clink down on the bar table and I looked up to see the cute bartender staring down at me.

He was large and tall, but had an aura of kindness around him, and It wasn't hard to tell he was a werewolf.

"On the house." He referred to the drink and I smiled warmly before I grabbed the cup.

"Thank you."

Rather than drink It, I stared inside, feeling strange as I hadn't had alcohol before.

"First time here?" He asked, and I bit my lower lip.

"Is that obvious?"

"Well, for one, you've been sitting here for the past twenty minutes staring at everything and everyone without even ordering anything, and I'm hella sure you don't know what that is." He referred to my drink.

I shook my head, feeling guilty, but he suddenly smiled.

"You from around here? You look oddly familiar."

Sure. He would have known me right away as Alpha George's daughter If I was wearing a prim suit with my signature slicked back ponytail.

"Funny." I push the topic aside before quickly changing It. "Is this place always crowded?"

"Today's Friday." He simply replied and I just raised a brow to which he laughed.

"You're as Ignorant as I thought. It's Friday, which means It's the last day before the weekend."

"What happens during the weekend?"

"Please. Be for real."

I wouldn't have known people took breaks on weekends or didn't have to work because 'taking a break or resting ' was not a word in my dictionary.

We were still having a conversation while I drank my drink and he kept refilling It each time I asked.

"I think that's enough. You can barely hold eye contact with me any more. You're drunk Miss, and this place is no place for a lady like you to get drunk. Are you here with someone?"

I was about to tell him off and just convince him to fill the cup. I loved the taste of alcohol, the way It cooled my head and made me forget about all my worries. No wonder people loved getting drunk.

Yet, It felt like I hadn't gotten enough.

However, I could see the bartender suddenly stepped back with wide eyes.

"I'm with her. I'll take her home now If you don't mind."

He suddenly bowed, shaking, and I wanted to know who was behind me to make someone like Tom, the bartender act like a drenched puppy. Mind you, Tom was like 6'9 feet tall.

"Y- Yes… Lycan Nathan."

Lycan Nathan? That name sounded so familiar that I would have known who It was straight away If I wasn't drunk already.

Suddenly, someone grabbed my hand and yanked me off the stool and before I knew what was happening, I was trailing after a guy I didn't even know.

Was I getting kidnapped?
