CHAPTER 12~ AN ONGOING CYCLE

When Marlie woke up the next morning, she was alone in bed and the room, it was completely empty. There was no Zhander, the only company she had was the sunlight that flooded through the curtains. She sat up, looking down at the thin, plaided pants she wore and the matching blouse.

So he had really changed her clothes like he said last night, but how could only that ever grant her comfort?

Sighing, she shuffled off the bed and walked over to the door, twisting the knob to see if they had mistakenly left it open. However, she was as unlucky as always because the door was indeed locked.

Her eyes glanced around the room, seeing it for what it was. Another prison, only this one didn’t have bars, the walls weren’t dirty and it didn’t smell moldy and rotten.

But it caged her just like the last one did, it had walls that barred her away from the outside and a door that she couldn’t unlock. She felt just as lonely too, the wind from the window was the only thing that whispered to her and the
