A New Face.

I woke up with a heavy heart, my mind still replaying the events of the past few days. Raquel's warning had sent shivers down my spine, and I couldn't shake off the feeling that I was in danger. I feared that I might end up being a slave again, or worse, something much worse than that. The mere thought of it was enough to make my stomach churn.

I got out of bed and walked to the small garden outside my room. The fresh air and the scent of the flowers usually helped calm my nerves, but today, nothing seemed to work. I sat on the bench and buried my head in my hands, tears rolling down my cheeks.
