CHAPTER 14

EVELEEN'S POV

I was brushing my hair, but my gaze was on my husband. I wanted to capture him in my eyes. I didn't know how would I spend time without him? I was serious when I said that I didn't want to go. I missed my family. But Duante was my real family.

The notion of going away from him frightened me. He stopped behind me gripping his black coat. He donned it. I was still staring at my husband. He slithered his fingers in his hair.

"Duante," I whispered but I didn't know. What should I say next? I wrapped my arms around him.

“I know you dinna want to go. But I dinna want them to think. I've captured you.” He said, embracing me.

‘I don't care what they think.‘

I blinked as I glanced up at him, "You never call when you go for business and.." I trailed.

His forehead crinkled as he gazed down at me. His lips turned up in a full smile, "I'll call you every morning," He kissed my forehead.
