Drey grabbed her hands lightly, but she lay there on the bed, cold and unresponsive. Thousands of emotions came rushing at him, and he couldn’t even determine what his next reaction was going to be. He had come to visit his ailing mother as usual at the same as he always had for the past six months. She was diagnosed with breast cancer two years ago, and had undergone numerous surgeries and chemotherapy.
