Chapter eleven
Kingsley reluctantly agreed to follow us for shopping but he made sure he had his tablet.
While we were busy getting things for ourselves, he sat on a bench sketching a drawing on his tablet., At some point, my mom was angry with him and seized the device for the moment. It was then that he joined in the shopping, but also surprisingly, he only got himself pencils, colours, A4 papers for his drawing of course.
“Kingsley, I see you are becoming a psychopath. I didn't meet you like this. If you don't
Chapter Twelve. When I woke up, I saw Kingsley with my phone reading the messages Kris sent for me.“Some privacy please!” I collected it forcefully. “Don't try it next time please!”Kingsley frowned. “You've gotten a lover now, I'm now a parasite right? You were the one reporting to mom I didn't have time to discuss with you because of my project. Now, I'm trying to relate and you are annoyed. Since when did you start hiding your phone from me?” He suddenly got angry. “You know
Chapter ThirteenWhen i got home, my father wasn't around neither was Kingsley. It was like an addition of two hours to the one hour my father had permitted me to stay. Meanwhile, I left Kris in the hotel as she refused to leave the room.I called him and he told me he was coming. I was inwardly afraid should in case my father returned and saw me outside. True to his words, he showed up almost immediately that shows he was with someone nearby. He opened the door and shook me.“How did it go?”
Chapter oneAs usual, I woke up that morning to turn on the television set in my room. I walked lazily to the set that was just beside the door and then pressed the power button. It turned on and soon the reporters began to present their news.It had become a tradition for me to watch news every morning before preparing for school as my father had trained me . News were always boring to listen to for me, but I loved to entertain myself with the latest updates in town and also because I was a Geography student, not only that, I usually presented news during the assembly often as part of the routine of the p
CHAPTER TWOWhen I got home that day, I was exhausted. I decided to stop a little distance from my house on the cab that carried me and then I trekked a distance to get home. I wanted to exercise myself a little since the gym in our house was strenuous and I didn't have time to use them and I read the disadvantages of not exercising one's self from Google . I was just removing my clothes when I heard a knock on the down floor door. I knew at once that it was Kingsley but in a country like this, you have to be double sure, so I peeped through the keyhole and my guess was right and then I opened the door.
CHAPTER FOURWhen I got home, I didn't see my mother but her car was packed outside. I assumed she went to see a neighbor and then I went inside. All that filled my head then was family matter, Christabel and Vivian and my friend Kingsley.Vivian called a couple of times to make sure I was not feeling sad and Christabel sent a message to me. This was the first time, as I didn't even have her number, I wondered who gave her my contact. I was popular in school and anyone could do that so it didn't bother me.
CHAPTER THREEOn Monday morning, I tried my best to avoid Vivian but that girl seem to be a daredevil.“Joshua, what were you even saying over the phone”, she doesn't call me Joshua except she wanted to deliver a very significant message. I only stared at her as she drew nearer.“Joshua, I'm talking to you”, she was trying to make herself as audible and annoying as she can be. Her statements were already attracting the stares of my fellow classmates especially C
CHAPTER FIVEVivian hadn't talked to me for a whole week now as she was still covered in embarrassment. That is the disadvantage of living a reckless life, you know.I commended Christabel on her work and then I began to ask her about her plans to publish it.“Kris, now that you are done with the novel, how do you intend to publish it”“When that time comes, you will know. The soft copies first and then the hard copies.”I liked her idea. She became my friend because we share the same interest – writing. I went back to my seat as soon as my mathematics teacher stepped into the classroom.“I told you all that we would be having a mathematics competition and so we will be selecting the best three to represent our school from your classroom today.”, he said as he smiled. His teeth were not that sparky but it gave an impression. He was a tall and masculine man and never felt si
CHAPTER SIXThat Sunday evening, my father returned home. My mother had gone to see her friends and I was concluding my book. I rushed out and hugged him.“daddy, I missed you so much”, I said exposing my open teeth.“Me too. Where is your mother?, she had not been picking my calls. What is the problem?”, he asked as he handed me over his bags.“nothing, I don't think there is a problem at all. But where did you travel to ?““To visit a friend. Don't worry, I'm back now”Yeah, he was back but from his tone, I could figure out that he was troubled. I didn't want to trouble him with questions. I took his bag inside and brought out his food to serve him since he said he was hungry. When my mother returned, she sighted my father in the parlor reading his newspapers and didn't say a word. She just went inside the room and my father noticing it followed suit. I followed too, to e
