06: Leyla B. Summers.

KURT'S POV:-

Dad was rubbing the back of his neck nervously as he looked at Leyla. Mom and I were laughing at him. Dad can become a super cautious mother if I even get a scratch on my body. My dad and I were more attached to each other. And my mom was the strict one in both of my parents. My dad and I were mostly the partners in crime. He spoiled me and he was proud of it. He even once told mom that he was proud that he had spoiled me. I was their only child. And my dad literally made me feel like a prince.

My dad went towards Leyla, smiling nervously. Leyla covered her mouth with her palm as she was giggling at my dad. "I am so sorry, young lady. I did not notice you at all. If anything happens to my son, I just become blind. I can't see anything or anyone else but my son." My dad apologized to Leyla. I laughed out loud again as I heard my dad's apology. I knew he was not really good at apologizing.

"That's okay, Mr Rodriguez. I know how fathers can behave if anything happens to their children. You don't have to apologize. Your son is in the hospital. I can understand." Leyla replied to him in a calmed tone. He looked very nervous and very worried. I knew my father well. I knew Leyla might have seen how worried he was.

"Oh, thank you. What a polite young woman you are. What is your name? Did you bring him here?" My mom went towards Leyla and asked her in her motherly tone.

"My name is Leyla Summers. Yes, I brought him here. It was an accident. A thief snatched my purse. I went to stop him. The thief pushed your son and he got hurt. I am so sorry, you have to go through all this because of me." Leyla replied to my mom and my mom waved her hand in front of her eyes.

"You don't have to apologize to us. You brought him to the hospital. You stayed with him until we did not reach. We are more than grateful to you." My mom replied as she walked towards Leyla and wrapped one of her arms around Leyla's shoulders. Leyla nodded her head with a small smile on her face. And that small smile looked really amazing on her face.

"Leyla Summers, you said. As in the heiress of Summers industries. Daughter of Brandon Summers? The well known industrialist." My dad asked Leyla in a shocked tone. Leyla frowned in confusion but she nodded her head slowly.

"Yes, I am the same Leyla. Leyla B. Summers. How do you know so much about us?" Leyla asked in a confused tone. My dad chuckled softly then he ruffled her hair as if he knew her well.

"You dad and I have been business partners for decades. And we are very good friends too. He talks a lot about you. He told me that soon he will introduce you, his daughter Leyla as the heiress of his company. As his son wants to have a career of his own." My dad replied to Leyla and I was shocked when I heard him. It turned out, my dad really knew Leyla and her family. Leyla just nodded after hearing my dad.

"Anyways, I should get going before my dad will inform the police that I am missing. He must be waiting for me. It was nice to meet you all." Leyla said and my parents nodded their heads. My mom walked with Leyla towards the door.

As for my dad, he walked towards me and sat down on the bed with me. He leaned in and pecked my forehead. I felt guilty that he was worried because of me. But it was an accident. No one was at fault. To my surprise, I could no longer feel any pain in my ankle or my foot. I was moving my foot and it felt fine. My dad hugged me again and I chuckled. He could be very worried. Like motherly worried about me. But having a father like that, it was definitely a blessing.

LEYLA'S POV:-

Leaving Kurt with his parents, I drove straight towards the building of my father's company. I looked at my watch and sighed. I knew my dad would be pacing back and forth in his office. Fuming in anger. I knew he would be hell worried about me. I promised him that I would join him in the meeting. He called me earlier. So he could discuss the matters with me. And fill me in with the problems. But I got caught up with troubles as always. And I was hell late for the meeting.

As I stepped out of the elevator, I found my dad standing in front of the elevator. He was talking to someone on the phone. He turned around and his gaze fell on me. I smiled nervously and waved my hand. "Yeah, forget about it. She is here. And she looks fine. I will talk to you if anything serious she will tell me." Dad spoke on the phone then he hung up. I knew he dialled 911 because I had been gone for too long. How bad could my day be? I asked myself that question in the morning when I realized that I forgot my phone at home.

After that, I almost got robbed. I fought the thief and got a man in hospital because of my stupid purse. I just could not lose that purse. My dad gave me some important papers and a flash drive in the morning. He wanted me to carry that. As he left home before I could even shower, I had to drive myself to the office. He was not fuming in anger. He had a worried look on his face. Of course, because of the fight and everything that happened later, my hair was a mess.

He walked towards me and set his hand on the small of my back. He pulled me towards his office then he locked the door. "Where were you, Leyla? I was so worried about you. You forgot your phone at home. Then you came two hours later. I confirmed with your mom. You left home two hours ago. And don't tell me you were stuck in the traffic. I can see you were in a fight. Your hair tells me everything." He asked me in a worried tone. I sighed in defeat then I looked up at his face.

"Yes, daddy. I was in a fight. It is a long story. I will tell you everything. I was coming here but I stopped to get lattes for us both. Before I could have gotten the lattes, a snatcher snatched my purse. I ran after him. I got my purse and got him arrested. But then I found out that a man was hurt because that stupid snatcher pushed him. So I took that man to the hospital. And I was waiting for his parents to be at the hospital so I could leave. Turns out that the man I saved is the son of one of your business partners. Mr Rodriguez." I told the whole story to my father in one breath. After hearing me, he cupped my face with both of his hands and made me look into his eyes.

"Are you okay, my chipmunk?" He asked me in a worried tone. I pouted dramatically and nodded my head. He chuckled then pulled me to his chest.

"I am so proud of you, chipmunk. I am glad that you are back safely." He whispered in my ear while patting my back. I closed my eyes and wrapped my arms around him too. I was enjoying my father's warmth. There was nothing warmer than the warmth of the hug of a father.
