Chapter 15: Shattered Dreams

Tasmine’s POV

I wake up with my arm throbbing in pain, fucking hell! It’s my second day at a new school. I shouldn't call in sick that soon. Dad walks into the room and sits on the bed looking at me. “Hey Kiddo, how are you this morning?” He asked, I groaned out, “It’s throbbing, I shouldn’t take time off in my first week at a new school dad.” I grumbled, but all I want to do is sleep. “You sure? Because you can stay home with your grandma or me?” He offered.

I try to give him the best brave look on my face. “Let me take some painkillers and see how I go,” I said. I don’t think he bought what I just said, “Ok,” Dad said softly, I looked at him worried, “How good are you at putting hair up?” I asked, “You’re asking me?” he said, shocked and looking very scared. “I’ll get your grandma to do it hey.” He said, I want to laugh, but I need painkillers first.
