Chapter 3

Hellion hid behind the trees and sat on the ground, panting heavily. She never thought that she could run a mile in just a blink of an eye. Hellion covered her face, her cheeks burning like a hot tomato. Gosh! That perverted man! How dare he kiss her so unreasonably?

She might be following him all along but does he really need to resort to sexual harassment? How can a !an be so unreasonable and rude! Hellion hold her burning cheeks, her face flushing like a tomato. Darn it. Now, she finally lost him. How else would she find out where to go?

She shouldn’t have run away from him and jus—

Hellion paled up on her thought. Just what?! Sacrifice your dignity to that kind of man? Have you lost your mind? How could she not run away if he threatened her like that?! Hellion eagerly scolded herself.

She look up and let out a heavy sigh. What now? Should she chase after him again but his words instantly popped in front of her making her contemplate. He wasn’t joking, he could really do something like that! Hellion shuddered at the thought of losing her chastity just because of a small matter.

That perverted jerk! She should have bashed him in the head before she had run away. Hellion clenched her fist, veins popping out of her forehead as she thought of that unexpected kiss. How could he? Even if she have no memory, that was definitely her first kiss! And he just took it away so easily! That damn perverted jerk!

Hellion touched her lips, grumbling as she thought about what happened. He only kiss her lightly but the sensation of his lips still lingered on hers. His lips felt warm and soft. She didn’t know what it was but she really tasted something sweet…

Sweet?

Hellion blushed suddenly. Why am I thinking about that embarrassing moment right now?! She hold her head, slowly calmed herself and finally decided to walk on the road in front of her. He did go towards this direction so she might as well see him later on. If she met him again, she would definitely make sure to whack his face for the sake of her dignity. Perverted bastard! You can’t treat me unfairly! Hellion thought deep and eventually walked towards the place she went before.

After a couple of hours later…

“Young miss. Where are you headed to?”

An old lady spoke to Hellion as she look at her with her squinting eyes. Hellion glanced at the old lady who’s only been as tall as her waist. She then think for a moment then shook her head.

“I really don’t know but I’m looking for someone.”

She said as she look around the small street. She got here after a long walk in the road. It was a small town she came to pass by maybe she’ll find him here when she look for a bit. She thought that he might rest somewhere before continuing. It’s not as if he could walked so long without a rest so she was here walking around until midnight thinking that she would bump into him sooner or later.

Though meeting him here seems like it would be impossible...

The old lady look up to her and told her.

“It’s so late and you’re still wandering around the streets. You should hurry home young miss. The demons ran wildly at night. If you were to encounter them. I’m afraid…”

Hellion look at her with a bit of awkwardness. So, demons ran at night? But isn’t this a mortal realm, how can a demon wonder so freely? Wait. Hellion then realized something was off and look at the old lady as she instinctively back off.

“Grandma. Why don’t you head home now. You’re grandchildren must be worried about you.”

Hellion then stepped away bit by bit as she watched the old lady with great caution. The old lady only smiled creepily as the rims of her mouth suddenly widen and displayed the sharp white teeth. Hellion trembled in fear as she tried to defend herself.

The old lady’s neck twisted in a very scary manner and her limbs suddenly turned into tentacles. She look at Hellion with her mouth agape, sharp teeth and long tongue, eyes filled with bloodlust as the weak frame suddenly turned into something horrifying. It was a totally different look from before. Her mouth was salivating over her as the eyes reflected her very image.

Hellion stand still on her spot and cautiously watched at the monster in front of her. Her sense of danger was strong and she wanted to run away but the fear isn’t overwhelming her instead, there was a strong will to fight. She didn’t know why but she can instinctively tell that she can’t afford to be a coward.

“This is…”

She was actually in the middle of her own thoughts. This demon, why do I feel like I’ve seen it before? Where have I seen it.

Oh…

Hellion glanced at the demon who just got in front of her. She didn’t even notice her movements at all. In a split second, she was instantly covered with fear and shock. A sudden thought passed in her head. She was actually afraid of death!

Before Hellion could back off, the sharp teeth were already at her face. She can’t even let out a scream, only widening her eyes in a total shock as something suddenly shone on her chest and the demon was eventually blinded with light.

“Kiiiiiihhhh!”

The demon shrieked and attacked her with tentacles. Hellion remained standing stiff with fright but before the tentacles reached her it suddenly dissipated in front of her like dust being integrated by the light. Hellion shielded her eyes as the light shone brighter and brighter.

Only the scream of agony was heard in the quiet night.

After a moment, Hellion opened her eyes and look around seeing the surrounding normal again. The light disappeared along with the monster in front of her. Hellion look at her chest and saw a dangling crystal shard. She held the necklace on her neck and saw that the light inside it was slowly fading away. Hellion thoughtfully look at the crystal shard.

It seems…

She has a protection charm!

Does it mean its okay for her to wander at night? It looks like monsters won’t dare to hurt her. Hellion giggled a bit and put back the necklace on her chest cloth. She then continue to walk around the street, humming happily.

Grrrm…

Hellion paused and touched her stomach. She haven’t eaten for the whole day and now she’s incredibly hungry. Hellion look at the empty streets as she rubbed her navel, trying to calm her raging stomach. Where should she get some food? There’s no more vendors in this hour and also…

She groped on her dress as she searched for a single coin with great hope but sadly she don’t have anything at all. She felt so disappointed after finding out she don’t even have money. She have no memory, no place to go and not even a single coin in her pocket! How can she even survive?

Grumbling along with her stomach, Hellion let out a deep sigh.

She look gloomily at the silent street. What’s the point of her going in the streets? She have no money, no place to stay and nothing at all. What the heck did happened to her? She doesn’t even know her name. Hellion then paused and look at her palms. So, who am I and why is this happening to me? How can she find out when she can’t even get a clue?

She can only ask herself but she won’t even get an answer. Hellion gave up thinking and just walked ahead trying to find a way to relieve her growling tummy. She eventually reached an alley on the side of the road and stopped.

She look at the dark corridor and thought. She still need to find a place to spend the night. Has it always been like this? Her, wondering around to some unknown place and sleeping on the streets? Hellion shook her head. It can’t be that she live her whole life this way. No matter how hard she try to recall the past she can’t really remember.

She stepped inside the alley and walked into the darkness, thinking she could probably stay there for tonight. She then reached a dimly lit spot and crouched on the ground, not minding the dirty hem of her dress. Hellion then took off her coat and straddled herself as she leaned against the wall. She then covered her body with the coat and finally close her eyes.

“I guess I have to live like this for a while.”

Hellion hugged herself and slowly drifted to sleep with her thoughts fixed in one thing.

“Tomorrow. I’ll definitely find him….”

As the rest of the night passed by, the chilliness started to crept in along with the darkness of the night. The alley was quiet, only the sound of breathing could be heard from a distance.

A shadow on the wall moved not far away from the sleeping figure. After making sure that she had already been in a deep sleep. The shadow then showed itself in the dark. The black smoke turns into a figure and then into a man. The handsome face was revealed as his gaze fixated on her weak frame. The man looked at her with cold eyes and as the chilliness crept in a dangerous aura was weaved in the air. With a dark expression on his face, the man walked towards her silently.

He stopped in front of Hellion and bent down to whisper in her ears.

“You shouldn’t have refused me.”

He then quietly leaned back and stared at her for a moment. He had a cold expression in his face and was in a deep thought. After a minute, he looked at her with malicious eyes and eventually dissipated into a black smoke as the cold, evil smile he had was slowly blown away without a trace.
