Chapter 132

Nora didn’t know what to expect when she walked into Luca’s hospital room after three days away, she set her mind to him asking her to leave again, telling herself that she would turn back and leave without a backward glance if he said anything like that but knowing she would not be able to do it. The last three days were spent doing nothing, she ate, tried to sleep, and talked with Maria who came to visit Luca yesterday. She did tell her that Luca looked down and even asked about her but that doesn’t mean he still wants to see her. She went to his hospital room but he wasn’t there. She saw a nurse who told her he was getting fresh air and pointed her to where she would find him, she saw him before he saw her. There were a few other people in the healing garden but Luca was all alone, he looked up and saw her, his face lit up for a moment before his expression went unreadable again. She saw the few seconds of delight and hoped it was a good sign.
