The people’s voices of triumph echoed all over the capital of the Largoth Empire as a new Emperor was crowned to be the next leader of the said Empire. It is because people have succeeded in putting the First Princess as the next Emperor. Moreover, the newly Crowned Emperor was a woman making her the First Female Emperor in the history of the whole world. People have celebrated this event through festivals, parades, haunting competitions and some even made a fairy tale about it!
“Long live, her majesty! Long live, her majesty!”
As the new Emperor, Darya, was displayed in public while riding the most expensive horse of the Empire, people were recognizing her and were wishing for her goodness in health. Emperor Darya was extremely overwhelmed, feeling happy and at the same time, afraid. She is happy that she was chosen by her grandfather as the next Emperor. It was such a great honour to be recognized as the one who succeeded the throne not because of her lineage but because of her deeds. However, she was never interested in becoming the Emperor nor did she think about leading the whole Empire. She just wants to lead, as just the First Princess of her late father. She just wants to live a quiet life while doing her hobbies. She is afraid as she considers that being an Emperor is a great responsibility that she could not bear alone and as a woman.
When the parade was done, she attended and presented herself in various celebrating and political events before she could finally go to her room and rest. Palace’s maids attended to her in the bath and while she was in it, she closed her eyes while thinking about what she was going to do first, as an Emperor. Firstly, she will demolish some Imperial rules. She will also change the baseless principles about business.
Emperor Darya’s long hair, black and silky, was wet and was washed carefully and gently by the maids. They were so vigilant to not ruin her beautiful hair as it symbolizes rare beauty to the standards of Largoth people. Her long eyelashes were the first one you would notice when you look at her face however, if you look at her full frontal appearance while you are making eye contact with her, you could feel the intimidation and charisma she is holding that you will find yourself hard to tell lies and that you will spill out the truth eventually.
“Your Majesty,” the maids were calling her because she had finished taking a bath. However, Emperor Darya seemed to have fallen asleep so they ended up watching how entrancing she looks while the Emperor is sleeping.
Again, the maids were mesmerized by her undeniable beauty that no matter what Emperor Darya does, their hearts would simply sink into the depths of their muscles. Everything she does is a work of art and everything she accomplishes, it is a great help to the Empire. They have such great expectations of her as the new Emperor and at the same time, their respect for her is leading their desires.
While being watched by the maids for a minute, Emperor Darya finally opens her eyes, with the look of confusion on it.
“Did I fall asleep?” She asked and looked at the maids who just did their best to not get caught that they were watching her while she had fallen asleep.
“Yes, your majesty. We had just finished doing your bath.” Her personal maid, Ejila, beamed as she took the bathrobe the other maid handed to her.
Emperor Darya was still dazed when she stood up to wear the bathrobe. When she left the bathroom, she asked again. “Did I forget something?”
The maids think about what the Emperor has forgotten. They looked at each other and everyone shrugged in confusion as well.
“I do not think you have forgotten something, your majesty.” Ejila answered while checking at the surroundings if ever the Emperor has really forgotten something.
‘Was it a dream?’ Emperor Darya thought so. Was it a dream that she forgot? But why does it feel like she forgot something very important? What was her dream a while ago?
Emperor Darya had a long sigh coming out her mouth after she jumped on her bed when the maids finally finished drying her wet hair and left her room. While trying her best to remember what she had forgotten, she just fell asleep due to the event that day, without knowing that she was being watched by that being that made her forget what she just dreamt about.
The next day, Emperor Darya had a council meeting with the other high ranking nobles. While talking about Imperial affairs and demolishing some Imperial rules, a faction is suddenly talking about her marriage with Duke Garrett’s son. Emperor Darya knows that these people are trying to have deeper connections with the Imperial family that is why they are pushing the Duke’s son to have her married to him, however, just by the thought of her marriage to her long time crush, she cannot deny but be happy about it.
“That is yet to be decided by my grandfather as he serves as the other half of me and my decisions. I will have to ask him before I give my opinion to all of you. Is there another concern you would like to present, Viscount Morata?” Her investigative eyes landed on Viscount Morata’s, the one who suggested her marriage to the son of Duke Garrett. He flinched upon meeting the Emperor’s intimidating eyes.
“I have no more concern, your majesty.” He looked down, sweating that the Emperor might say something more but got relieved when the Emperor stood up. Everyone then followed the Emperor’s action while their heads were being tilted down to show respect.
“I have to end the meeting here since we have accomplished our main objective.” Emperor Darya stated after crossing her arms. “I would like to hear more about marriage after some time. I would also like to meet the Duke’s son next week.” She announced while looking at the silent one, Duke Garrett.
“This subject has heard your majesty.” Duke Garrett replied, signalling that he had understood what Emperor Darya meant.
“Good. Then, you should go back to your individual estate to announce the changes we will be making this year. Thank you for your cooperation.” Emperor Darya finally left the meeting room with his personal aid and knights.
Upon leaving, some nobles also left to follow what the Emperor said but there were tigers with fangs that remained in that private room. Duke Garrett’s eyes were sharp while he looked at the door where the Emperor left a while ago.
“We have no need to worry, Lord Garrett. We are now one step ahead.” Viscount Morata stated. He tapped the right shoulder of Duke Garrett after coming close to whisper in his ear. “That b*tch surely likes your son. We could make use of it.” He mumbled.
Emperor Darya was having her tea time in the Imperial garden while she thought about the first time she met Esteban, the son of Duke Garrett. It was summer and she wanted to play outside but she had a private lesson. She was planning on sneaking out but after she opened the door, she bumped into this tall man, making her lose her balance and fell on the floor.
“I apologize, your highness.”
She was caught off guard after hearing such a calm and collected voice. The eight-year old princess looked at the hand being offered to her by the tall man. When she looked up to his face, she got distracted by the gentle look on his face. He had good features and his slightly golden hair was strikingly good on him. She received the tall man’s hand and stood up, only to meet his blue eyes. The colour of his eyes was like the sky.
“It was careless of me to have been standing here for a moment, your highness.” The tall man further explained. “I was intrigued by the mysterious design of the door. It’s simple yet delicate carving caught my eyes so I could not help but look at it a bit more.”
The tall has a strange personality of being distracted by different kinds of art. The young Princess invited the tall man inside her private lesson room to have a look at the different works of art being displayed everywhere. Her professor, who recognized who that tall man was, had no choice but to accommodate him and unexpectedly, he had to teach the Princess and at the same time, the son of Duke Garrett.
That moment, Princess Darya realized that those artworks that were displayed were actually not just for display. She thought that they were only for the eyes to see but it could actually touch someone’s heart. While watching the son of Duke Garrett recognize those artworks, she had fallen in love because her heart would beat whenever she saw him having a cheerful expression on his face.
Starting that time, she would watch him, with the way he walks, wears, and even the way he talks. Esteban was always calm and is good at mature talks. He was only eighteen years old at that time but he could talk to her grandfather like the high ranking nobles. He was such an admirable heir and will surely have a good future.
Emperor Darya put down the cup of tea she just sipped from. She then looked at the sky that was like the colour of Esteban’s eyes. She had a genuine smile on her lips while she thought about getting married to the only man who made her heart waver.
A month later, Emperor Darya watched her husband, took her hand, pulled it to kiss the back of it. She had a good smile while looking at Esteban’s usual gentle looking face. ‘Finally, I got married to Esteban De Garrett’.
Through the years Emperor Darya has led the whole Empire, it was peaceful and full of great changes. Farmers were given fair revenue and the market price lowered down. She also demolished some of the systems of crimes. She has also built schools for the commoners and has given them a chance to acquire a higher position. These achievements, thus far, the only reason why the anti-imperial faction loathed Emperor Darya. She is becoming more and more powerful as years pass. They thought that they were a second step ahead after making the son of Duke Garrett marry the Emperor. Although the Emperor married their trump card, they are still not able to grasp their main goal.“Your majesty,” Duke Esteban put down the cup of tea he just sipped from. He then looked at his wife’s beautiful face.“Is there something that is making you uncomfortable?” She smiled.“I will never be uncomfortable around you, your majesty,” he smiled back. “I would like to inform you again about my coming expedition th
A month had passed since she woke up in a different body. She is thinking deeply to figure out what might have happened to her. She had also thought that the tea she drank might be the reason why she had transmigrated to a new body but considering that the Imperial family is not looking for her, she had simply died as an Emperor and a miracle happened. She found out that five years has already passed since Emperor Darya unfortunately died due to an “unknown disease”. Based on the public, the Emperor died in her sleep without last words which is why her husband, Duke Esteban, was nominated as the next Emperor. Knowing that her husband took another wife just a month after her death, she would not go out the Count’s manor to avoid seeing the sky as it reminds her of Duke Esteban. She just could not bear to look at it because she could only think of what could be the reason why her husband killed her. She could not bear the pain in her heart that she was not able to see her child that wi
After a long wait for this time to come, Amara has finally got the chance to go to the Imperial palace after forcing her father to go along with him. All nobles were called to the palace for a meeting and she tagged along to go to the Imperial palace’s library. She does not want to meet Esteban yet and she is not ready to face him. She was left with her personal maid after her father went to the main palace. Feeling cold, she could only look at the palace where she grew up. She could only look at the same palace she built five years ago. Seeing it in this view and in another body, she could convince herself to accept the fact that she is no longer the Emperor and that she cannot serve the people like before.“My lady?” Her personal maid, Silla, noticed her lady staring at the main palace and got worried because she looked really sad. Lately, she can see that her lady is like a lifeless doll that had sorrowful eyes.“Silla,” Amara said, “Tell, does this place look cheerfully colourful
The long silence engulfing Lady Amara and Silla was deafening. They could only hear the blowing of the wind and the dancing of the flowers around them. Silla could not move from where she was standing as if she lost her rationality. She could not believe what she just heard and what she found out. What’s more haunting her is the fact that she got involved in an unexpected death of a person she was serving. She could not accept the fact that she is serving the Crown Prince until now. She could not accept that the current Emperor was…Silla looked at Lady Amara’s eyes. No wonder… No wonder Lady Amara changed. No wonder… she can feel an extreme feeling of loyalty to the lady. It is because… she… she is…Shush! Amara heard a sound from the bushes. She immediately took the knife she hid from her sleeve and threw it to the flowers.“Acckhh!” A man groaned as he went out the bush with a sword on his hand. His right shoulder was bleeding where the knife got pierced.“My lady, it’s an assassin
After some time of recuperating her feelings, Lady Amara, the late Emperor Darya, finally had the opportunity to go to an Imperial banquet. It was the birthday banquet of the current Empress. Silla did her best to make her stand out and insisted on assisting her during the ball. When the time to leave came, Count Sebastian came to pick her up in her room as they went out the manor together. While in the carriage, the ride was silent at first until Count Sebastian spoke. “Does the Crown Prince treat you well?” Count Sebastian had been curious about this. He can see that her daughter has changed since that incident. He is also worried that something is going on but he has no idea. Amara was silenced as she thought of whether lying or telling the truth to Count Sebastian. She then found herself showing a small smile to not make him too concerned. “We are well and we understand each other, father.” She replied, choosing to stay neutral without telling both the exact truth and a made
Amara was looking gloomy all the time as she watched the nobles dance in twos. She watched the Crown Prince dance with Lady Tanzania. And she watched Esteban happily talk to the Empress. She found herself silently walking out the banquet hall and went to a dark and empty hallway. And without any knowledge where her feet took her to, she found herself looking at portraits of Esteban with Empress Kathika. That hallway was where all the royals’ portraits were displayed but she never saw her face, her own portrait, as she could only see a lot of Empress Kathika’s portraits. She stopped in front of a portrait of three people. There was Emperor Esteban, Empress Kathika, and Crown Prince Lorenzo, looking happy together, like a real family.
“Wake up, you brat!” A man splashed water on a young girl’s face to wake her up. Startled, the young girl opened her eyes feeling so cold with the water all over her clothes. She was confused. “Go fetch water and put the luggage in the carriage! We are going to leave!” The fat man kicked her legs making her groan in pain. She was about to speak for herself but ended up hearing a crack on her voice like something just pulled her tongue. She covered her mouth only to realize that she could not speak well. She immediately stood up to look for a mirror but she stopped upon seeing the place where she was sleeping a while ago.
The young girl was just holding a small pouch where she put the small white ball in. As the carriage started their journey, she was only riding at the back where the luggage and foods were located. Since this morning, she only had an apple and bread but maybe because the body she was in was used to being starved that she does not feel bothered being hungry. It was already dark when they left the Empire. They already crossed the river connecting the two continents and were on their way to the Hapra Forest. However, they did not arrive at the Hapra forest but stopped at the entrance of the forest. Then she was asked to carry some stuff as they decided to rest there. As the errand girl, she was asked to do things here and there. Until then, three carriages arrived coming from another direction. A group of people in commoner clothes came to them as they greeted each other. A mature man with golden hair seemed to be their leader. He was tall and by the way he talked, he
