The Mountain Chaos

                    Chapter 2

“Sire, are we not already there? I am tired and I feel that my legs will give in at any minute.”

The servants climbed the mountains walking, but the governor and landlords utilized the horses. They started the travel in the morning, made a quick stop in the afternoon, and reached the time of the full moon. The governor and his friends are having the best night of their lives, but it is the other way around for their servants.

“Shut up. I feel that this is not it.” the governor inspected the area with his eyes, and he heard a sound nearby.

Lord Avide and his other wealthy friends marveled at the beauty of the lush mountains they are seeing before their eyes.

I never knew this kind of place exist. If I had knew this place exists, I would have been richer.

I will put some resorts here. This will bring me huge amounts of money.

Lord Avide is euphoric, already imagining what the mountains will look like if he put some buildings there.

But first, I should cut most of the trees and plants here. I am sure many wild animals live here, and I should kill those to not scare the customers off. This will be a hard work, but I think the money I will spend making this mountain a cosmopolitan place will came back to my hands in double amounts.

They suddenly heard the sound of people laughing and sound of animals, barking and howling. They followed the sound, and they saw a cheerful scenery.

Dogs barking loudly, and people playing their instruments. Some are dancing, while the others are singing. They are eating from a hanging pot and drinking liquor. The people noticed that there are newcomers hiding in the thick green bush, and ran extra steps to welcome them.

A dog with sparkling fur turned into a gorgeous woman wearing a thin piece of clothing approached the unknown visitors. It looks like silk.

They all stopped in their tracks, shocked and the servants are catching their breaths. They are noticeably exhausted.

The rich people are in their fighting stance, others acting defensively. They looked at their servants, but the servants do not have the strength to protect themselves.

The servants did not even had the strength to show in their faces that they are shocked, not like the wealthy people they are with.

The mountain creatures noticed that the strangers are afraid of them. They approached them slowly and carefully.

Someone took the lead of the group, and spoke with a soft voice to the travellers.

“Do not be afraid of us, we do not attack and harm those who are not a threat to us. Hello, I am Anais. I am the leader here. We are wolves, and we do not wish to bring mayhem. May I know who are you and what are you doing here?” the girl is a dog a while ago, but now, she turned to a human, with goddess-like features.

A magnificent human. A beauty that can be compared to Elizabeth. A rare face of a woman indeed.

A face of an angel. She had a fair skin, no freckles, no imperfections, curvaceous body, soft long blonde hair, sharp nose, and red lips. She is not like any other French women in the cities down the mountains, who are overly decorated with cosmetics, and placed with corsets, even if they are fat. This woman is simply dresses, without any synthetic work made on her. She is like a breath of fresh air for the horny old man. He felt smitten upon seeing the young woman, who is in her early twenties.

It is his first time to see a woman comparable to the exquisiteness of Elizabeth. She is wearing little clothes, only enough to cover her delicate parts. The governor felt a little horny.

“I am the local governor, and these are my friends. Would you mind us having a shelter and rest in your place for the meantime?” the governor asked, pleading.

“Of course. We have no problem with that. Come with me.” she led them to a little hut and lend them some quilts. It stinks, like it hasn’t known detergent for a long time.

They followed Anais, and saw the people who are declared missing when they climbed the mountains.

The governor is bewildered by what he saw. He came near them, the people who are thought to be missing, and talked to them.

“Gentlemen, why are you here? We thought you are all dead, after coming to these mountains. Why did you not come back to the cities?” Lord Bastien asked.

“Sire governor, we felt belongingness here that we did not felt down the mountains. In the cities, we felt alienated and lonely, pressured to generate and earn more money. Here, we felt peace we have not felt for many years. Cheers, Sire governor.” The man raised his glass filled with wine in front of Lord Avide. The man looked tipsy.

You looked overjoyed, but you are wearing lousy and destroyed clothes. How would you survive wearing those kind of clothes in this bitter cold weather? Idiot. You let go of living in the luxurious French societies.

The mountain humans gave them some warm soup with vegetables and bread consisting only of flour and water.

What a harsh way to feed your visitors.

It tastes bad, like these should be fed to the pigs. Even pigs eating dirt in the pigsty won’t dare to eat this.

They ate it, while having their face with a cringe, because they have no choice. The food and water they had is gone; his companions are all fat and gluttons. After eating, they slept in the mats, while the servants rest outside. They don’t want the servants to sleep with them. When the mountain people saw that, they gave them thicker and cleaner quilts to drape themselves on, and provided them meat and fish, with soup that had many ingredients, not like the soup before that was served to the rich, which consists of only flour and water. They did not feel cold, not like the ones inside the hut.

The next morning, the local governor woke up early, and saw Anais cooking some vegetables for breakfast. Men are fishing in the nearby stream, for salmon, while old women are already crocheting new quilts for the visitors. The girls made fire for grilling meat, fish, and baking bread, while their brothers are out in the fields to plant root crops and catch some wild animals for food. The other young girls are getting edible plants from the lush mountains. All of the mountain people are busy. The governor came near her, and held her in his arms.

“Miss, would you like to go out with me?” he said seductively.

“Get your hands off me, Mister.” Anais said coolly.

“Mister? You should call me Lord Avide, or much better, my future husband.” he smiled from ear to ear while gently caressing Anais’ body. He grabbed the young lady’s body and held her closer to his.

The young woman turned around and grasped the old man, baring her sharp teeth near his neck.

Other mountain humans saw what happened, and got their spears and arrows from their homes.

“Leave this place, or there will be bloodshed, now.”

The local governor ran to the huts and wakens up his companions, and they left immediately.

They panickly left the place, even leaving some of their things.

Lord Avide left his priced gold necklace in the hut. It was sparkling when hit by the sunlight.

I will come back for you all, especially you, my dear Anais. I guess I will punish you, alongside my dear Elizabeth. How dare you two reject my sincere love and endearment? Foolish women, not reciprocating my pure feelings. You will pay for this, for real.

Anais and her companions came to the huts to clean the left abode of the visitors, and she saw something dazzling to the eyes. She held it in her hands.

The sunlight passes through the window of the hut, and it struck the sparkling thing Anais held in her hands. She got out of the hut and came near to the fire.

She threw the priced gold necklace in the fire. The gold necklace melted, embers appearing above, precious stones burning slowly.

It all turned to a worthless liquid, flowing down the mountain, killing some of the lush plants with its sweltering heat.
