Chapter 11: Farewell

Mrs Brown staggered backwards and sat heavily on the chair. Chantel was pacing up and down with just one thing on her mind

"How to get her phone back," she thought.

Ruth opened her eyes, later in the afternoon. She frowned scanning her environment but feel okay when she her mother sitting on the side and Chantel leaning against the window. They were both looking at her

"Mum, where am I? What happened?" she asked

"Sweety, how are you feeling? Are you okay?" she asked with concerning and ignoring her questions

Ruth sat on the bed and wanted to ask where she was again but the doctor walked in

"Ah, you are finally awake," he said and Ruth looked at Chantel, her mother and back at the doctor.

It registered in her mind she was in the hospital and she remembered her father.

"Dad, where is Dad?" she asked alternating her gaze between her mother and the doctor.

The doctor inhaled deeply.

"Ms Brown, I am sorry your father was brought in dead." the doctor said holding his stethoscope
