The vampires and werewolves were always in a state of war. Vampire venom was lethal to werewolves which is why they were always at a disadvantage.
One day something extraordinary happened. A white wolf was born with a white crescent on its chest as his mark. But he wasn’t the only one. Several packs informed the birth of a white crescent wolf. They were not only unique in color and their mark but they possessed two gifts.
They were able to suck vampire venom out of other wolves and their flesh which made them invincible. Their second gift granted them the ability of making anyone submit to them by staring them in the eye and that made it impossible for anyone to look into their deep crystal blue eyes for more than three seconds because it paralyzed them in their fear.
It was first known to be a curse but soon after, the birth of a white fur was a sign of greatness and power. They were to be the Moon Goddess’ favorite children.
The white wolves came together one day and decided to form a pack and rule the werewolves. Like the vampires had their King and Queen, werewolves wanted a King Alpha and Queen Luna. The males fought for their position as King Alpha. After the Alpha was decided, the white wolves became a pack, the biggest and strongest of the world, the White Crescents.
They were the strongest among the werewolves, full of pride and glory.
They were royalty.
Vampires already had enough spite for the wolves but now after this ‘new kind’ they started despising them because of their power. They felt threatened and powerless due to their new capability. If things weren’t complicated enough some of the dark witches formed an alliance with the vampires to eradicate the White Crescents.
At the time, King Alpha Zachary and Queen Luna Sienna had another baby. A baby girl! She was born with hazel green eyes.
King Zachary had three brothers and a sister, the youngest being Marcus, Mila, Theon, Titus and the oldest, Zachary. They were from the royal bloodline.
Two months after the baby was born, they all sat at the grand table in the huge hall of the castle to have dinner.
“Where are Mila and Marcus?” Sienna asked as she took a seat beside Zachary.
“Marcus went with Mila, she wanted to surprise Julius,” Titus answered taking a bite of his steak.
“Ah yes, he’s returning today with the youngsters from their training” Sienna recalled.
Loud footsteps echoed from afar and then the door flew open.
“They killed him!” Mila shrieked and then suddenly fell to the floor.
“Mila!” Theon immediately got up and ran to her side.
“They murdered my mate, brother. My love is dead!”
“Who murdered Julius? Who are you talking about?” he demanded.
“Vampires” she sobbed.
“Come here” he hugged her little sister as she cried in his arms.
“The witches assisted them” Marcus explained.
“The witches? But I thought they were on our side” Lucius, Zachary’s older son spoke.
“I have had enough of this bullshit” Marcus spoke through gritted teeth
“I agree with Marcus. What do you suppose we do Zachary?” Theon asked Zachary whose eyes were glued to Mila.
“This is war” roared Titus. “I’m not gonna sit here and watch my little sister cry. They murdered a member of our family” Titus spoke with spite.
“It won’t be long before they attack another one of us” Theon stated.
“I think we should gather everyone at the castle’s grounds.” Marcus advised.
“They killed him brutally. They ripped a young boys head out” Mila said in horror her voice breaking. “I beg you brother, don’t let this happen again.”
Zachary stood up with fire in his eyes. Everyone stopped talking and looked at him. Sienna held a concerned look all over her face because she knew very well what he was about to say.
“Prepare the pack. Hell is about to break loose.”
Intense training started immediately. They were getting ready for war.
An old friend, Rufus, a Warlock came to meet Zachary regarding the matter.
“They are the dark witches. They use the forbidden spells, the black magic. Trust me Zachary I had no knowledge of them helping the vampires. Let me help you win this war. I will put them to their place” Rufus asked his old friend, his eyes shining darkly.
“We need all the help we can Rufus. Thank you”
Warlocks were only five in the entire world. They were the real deal, they possessed immense power. A Warlock held power of a hundred witches combined. Rufus asked help from his fellow Warlocks to punish the dark witches.
It was five warlocks and the White Crescents against an army of vampires and dark witches.
Two days later the latter attacked.
“They’re here.” Titus entered. “It’s not looking good. Mila and Theon already left with some of the wolves. Marcus is fighting alongside Felicia”
Felicia was Titus’ daughter.
“Zachary” Sienna looked at him. He knew what she was asking.
“Rufus” he turned to him. “I need you to do something brother”
“What do you need?”
“I want you to take my daughter as far away as you can until this is over. It’s not safe for her. Anything can happen.”
“Zachary-“
“Please Rufus,” Sienna pleaded, “Take my girl away and protect her. Promise you won’t let anything happen to my girl”
Rufus sighed in defeated. “Of course I’ll take her. I promise you Sienna and Zachary, I will not let anything happen to her”
Sienna kissed her baby girl on her forehead as she cooed, “I love you my darling”
Zachary picked her up and kissed her cheek, “I will meet you again my baby girl” He handed her to Rufus.
“I’ll see you soon sister,” Lucius stroked her cheek with his thumb.
Titus patted Lucius’ back, “You alright son?” He wore a huge smile on his face. “Never been better Uncle”
“Go” ordered Zachary. Rufus nodded and with a serious look on his face vanished in thin air. He fled with the baby in his arms and went isolated.
They shifted into their wolves and charged with their pack. Both sides roared with thirst as they ran to kill…
A week went by Rufus hadn’t heard from Zachary or anyone for that matter. He was sure they were dead but he still waited. Two days later he found out that his friend was dead. The castle was destroyed and the White Crescents were no more. Everyone was burned to ashes.
He was hiding inside a cabin in a jungle far away. He had grown attached to the baby dearly. She was the last of her kind, the last of the royal bloodline. The last of The White Crescents!
He stayed hidden in the cabin for a good few months, each day writing a journal. Rufus had almost made up his mind to raise her when one day while he was feeding the girl she looked him in the eye. The color of her eyes changed from hazel green to sea blue eyes. Rufus couldn’t move he couldn’t tear away his eyes from hers. Sweat appeared on his forehead, his heart throbbed and his face went pale. A thought washed over him; what if I can’t protect her? What if I fail to keep my promise I made to Zachary and Sienna?
The moment she blinked and looked away Rufus came back to his normal senses. She tapped the table with a huge smile on her face and opened her mouth for more. Her eye color was back to her usual.
What just happened? He thought. How can she possibly do that before turning into a wolf completely? She is just six months old!
She is special.
He decided there and then to put her in a deep slumber for centuries so that she could one day wake up to a better and much safer world and restore back her bloodline. He held her and placed her in a cot as she cooed and watched him eagerly passing a heart-warming smile.
Kissing her on the forehead one last time, he said, “You will be just fine, little one”
Stepping backwards he started chanting. With all his magic and all his heart he poured out his powers on her. Slowly, the baby’s eyes fluttered closed. The cabin in the forest disappeared into a dark void. The space was left empty and cold.
Rufus knelt down beside the cot and gazed at the sleeping girl as his energy left his body.
Over a 1000 years later
The cabin mysteriously appeared at the same spot and filled in the empty cold space. A man in his late twenties was out hunting with his dogs. He found the cabin and decided to enter it. What he saw amazed him and melted his heart.
A cot was in the middle of the room with no light or any other sign of life. As he neared it he found a baby girl, sleeping soundly with a piece of paper folded by her side.
He unfolded the piece of paper and whispered what was written,
“Aurelia”
The hunter took the little baby back to his house and decided to raise her as his own child. He had no child of his own and his wife had passed away years ago. He raised her to be a smart and a beautiful girl. She was excellent in her academics. Aurelia helped in the kitchen and in cleaning and in doing other chores. In the evenings she would often go out with her father for hunting. She had a sharp sense of hearing which really amused her father. Her skills were just so refined, her aim, her steadiness. Everything! It was like she was born to hunt. She had a very loving Aunt Cindy who got divorced five years after her marriage. She had two sons, Mike and James. Aurelia created a strong bond with them. They were the only siblings she had and she adored them with all her heart. They were happy. Just the two of them! Living an ordinary life, there was nothing special, nothing luxurious. But then of course, it’s all about how you define things. For Aurelia, this was
Everything had fallen apart. I felt incomplete. Empty! I knew I had changed yet I didn’t know what actually did change. I was most certainly going through anger issues. Everything was going slow yet so fast at the same time. Three months had gone by since father passed away yet it felt like years. I started getting these strange feelings. Different. That’s how I felt. I felt different from the people around me, I could somehow sense it. Ever since father left, that crescent mark on my chest started to hurt. There is something greatly odd about that mark. I used to ask father about it all the time. “It’s a birthmark. You were born with it Aura” he used to tell me. It’s not like I don’t trust him. I trust him blindly. I believe what he said was true but I just don’t really think a white crescent moon on my heart is a birthmark. If he told me it was a tattoo that would be more believable. I was born with it? Sure. But a birthmark? I
Studies weren’t really hard for me. I had a sharp brain and I was good in getting grades. There was too much free time on my hand. Despite doing all my homework and extra studying, playing with the boys, walking the dogs and all I still had a lot of free time on my hand. I just had to do something to keep myself busy and so I went on a search spree looking for jobs. Surprisingly, I got a call three days later. Guess what? I was hired a receptionist at Lavender and Honey Espresso Bar. With this good news I ran downstairs to inform Aunt Cindy about it. “I got a job” I squeaked and jumped. “Oh my goodness, that’s awesome Aury. Where?” she asked, giving me her full attention. The boys were gaming but they were still listening. “Lavender and Honey Espresso Bar” I cracked a smile. “When do you start?” “Monday. Day after tomorrow” Her eyes were opened wide with excitement and she gave me a tight warming hug. “So,” Jami
Her lips were soft and plum. She kissed me hard and I wanted to make her mine. “Asher” she moaned. “You’re mine” I whispered against her lips. “Always” she whispered back. A fierce knock on my door woke me up. Sweat covered my forehead. It was her! Why am I dreaming of her? The door banged again. I frowned in anger. “What?” I shouted. I was so worked up I didn’t realize I had spent the night sleeping on the couch. “Alpha! Derek and his companions have approached our borders” It was Gray. Immediately, I got up and rubbed my face. He’s here! “How many vampires?” I asked as I rushed out. Gray walked with me, matching my speed. “Twelve” I was expecting him to come but not so soon. What’s he going to do? Why would he bring only twelve vampires with him? He would be foolish to attack. My warriors are stronger. One bite to their neck and they are gone. No, he’s here to talk. H
A week passed by, I was having a great time working at the bar. It was tiring, sure, yes, but it felt good. It helped me sleep better at night so I considered it a big achievement. I locked up at night and came out to throw the trash. The sky was clear and the air was fresh. I took a deep breath and started walking home while playing music through my earphones. The streets were emptier than usual. Maybe it was Wednesday! I don’t know. I started crossing the street when I nearly tripped. My laces were opened. I bent down to tie them and that’s when I felt a little beam of light on myself. It wasn’t long before I heard to vicious honking of the car. My head shot up and I quickly got up to get out of the way from the speeding car. Bad luck! My laces weren’t tied yet and due to the sudden rush I tripped real bad and fell on the ground roughly. The car screeched and turned away. It didn’t hit me and neither was the car damaged in any way. Stopping a few feet away
Taking a deep breath I twisted the door knob of my room and entered. My eyes caught her by the window, one of her hands were handcuffed by the window. She watched me with weary eyes as I unbuttoned my top buttons.“You have a weird name” she spoke, unexpectedly. “Alpha? It’s a funny name,” she mocked, a soft laugh escaped her mouth.“Well I’ve never heard the name Aurelia before,” while saying her name I thought to myself, it has a nice sound to it.“Its way better than Alpha,” she rolled her eyes.I smirked at her. Her eyes were hazel with shades of green. Her features were sharp and prominent. Her height was average it balanced out with her figure. She was slim and smart. Her nose was sharp and straight and flawlessly lined lips that begged to be tasted. Everything about her was perfect. She licked her dry lips and turned her gaze away. I didn’t realize I was star
I avoided looking at him even though I knew he was watching me carefully. What is this? I’m kidnapped by this guy yet I’m feeling things for him. What is wrong with me?Getting frustrated by myself, I scoffed.“What?’ he asked.I wanted to change the subject so I asked him about my phone, my voice snapping at him. “Is my phone still with you?”“Ah yes, it’s still with me,” he rubbed his thumb against his nose before continuing, “Would you like to ask anything else?”“Yes, Maya said that I’m your possession?” I made sure to emphasize on ‘possession.’“And?” he seemed baffled.I didn’t get a chance to continue as the door flew open and in came a squeaky voice, “Asher”Asher.A lean willowy girl cat walked her way to him and kissed him roughly against his lips. I blinked at the sigh
I couldn’t’ sleep the whole night. Homesickness, I guess. My thoughts were jammed from the memories of Mike and Jamie and Aunt Cindy. Getting the boys out of trouble was like a daily routine for me. Covering up for the mess they made and supporting them for everything they did whether it was right or wrong made me feel good.I was dearly missing father too. I couldn’t help but think how different things would have been if he was still alive. It felt like ages since I last went hunting. I missed the moments we shared in the forest. The thunder roared outside as my heart yearned to be hugged by my family. A tear rolled down my cheek as I peered outside the window. It looked peaceful despite the fiery winds. Silver trickles ran down the glass as the rain murmured through the window. The wolves howled. It was only natural for wolves to be loping around. Recalling the surrounding when they got me out of the car, I realized this mansion
