Where The Real Journey Begins

Chapter 6

"Zane! Zane!" Someone yelled.

Zane came to his senses and was surprised by the number of people in front of him.

Everyone looked at him and Princess Roùx felt insulted.

"Hero, if you are not interested in this meeting, you can leave," Roùx points at the door.

“apologies, I got lost in my thoughts,” he replied politely.

“Let’s continue,” he added.

Roùx continued the meeting and everyone listened very carefully to what she had to say. A few minutes later, they finished and Zane went out with Lucia and Clarisse.

Princess Roùx was itching and ran towards Zane and taps him. She then said, "you're never attending a meeting again, I'll just send a messenger from now on."

Zane was surprised, "eh? Did you even think I wanted to? Your voice and mumbling made me want to puke," he said bluntly.

Zane continued walking away with the two beside him. Roùx was furious, but she just lets him go away.

While the three were walking back to their carriage to explore Etheria more, Clarisse said, "now you've done. You've pissed off the daughter of Duke Gottenhal."

"And why would I care? I made it all clear that I don't even need the two of you, as I said," he replied jerkily.

"You selfish, narcissistic bastard! You haven't even asked me and Lucia if we even wanted to be with you." She replied harshly.

The two continued to argue, Lucia tries to intervene the two from arguing further but she couldn't speak up properly and stop the arguing between the two.

While Clarisse and Zane argue, Princess Roùx and her butler look out the window watching the two.

"Is that how the reincarnated hero is? How unfortunate," the butler said to Princess Roùx.

"It is an ungrateful jerk, although it's not all of him," Princess Roùx replied casually to the butler.

"I should report this to his majesty and the council of mages. This is unacceptable," the butler said.

"There's no need for that, we still have not observed him a lot. And he's only starting his journey," Roùx said.

The butler replied, "But he disrespected you, my Princess. It is rightful for him to receive his punishment," the butler bowed.

"Do you know what happens if this punishment kills him?" Princess Roùx asked the butler.

"Yes! We will have to wait for months for a new hero to reincarnate," the butler said confidently.

"And Demon Lord Von Cron`e Gon is going to destroy this harmonic world in a month or two. We don't have time to wait for another hero. His battle with the previous hero sealed a few of his powers which delayed our annihilation. But he is recovering stronger as we speak," Princess Roùx explained.

The butler was shocked and back off a little. "how do you know that princess? Then that means we'll die as we can't rely on this current hero."

"Information is everything, and I'm sure you should know it as well. We don't have another chance and time to sit our asses down and wait for the next hero. This " IS THE HERO THAT WILL SAVE US!" Princess Roùx said confidently.

"Yes, I should know it. If you think that person is going to save us, I trust your words Princess Roùx," the butler said supportively.

"Just run and scatter away then! I don't need you if you can't do what I say!" Zane shouts at Clarisse.

"You call yourself the hero!? You are a powerless jerk! You are nothing compared to the other heroes who were reincarnated!" Clarissa replied fiercely, as she hints at drawing her sword out.

"Glacier Style! Glaze!" Lucia shouted, and ice spikes appeared on the ground, separating Clarisse and Zane.

"We are supposed to be a team! We shouldn't fight each other. This will argument will not bear any good," Lucia said to the two, maintaining her composure.

Clarisse gave up any chance of drawing her sword, "there is no chance for me to fight with a foolish man. The only reason I assisted him with the Ver De Terre was me thinking he can change."

"There's also no chance for me to ask help from Lady Sift cosplayer aka brewing volcano. And you're a too soft gentle witch. Grow up," he said while also mocking the two in the process.

"I'm done here, I'm going back to Esperia, Lucia. I'll just wait for the end," Clarisse said as she walks away from the two slowly.

The ice spikes dropped and Lucia dropped onto her legs and started crying to herself. Zane seems to be unfazed and started picking up his items on the floor thrown by Clarisse.

"I can't do this alone. I cannot do anything anymore, I'm a huge failure," Lucia whispers to herself.

Zane looks at Lucia curiously. And notices that Clarisse is not in sight anymore. Zane approaches Lucia and grabs her by the hand, forcing Lucia to stand up.

Lucia is being dragged by him to the carriage, "Zane! Your grip hurts. Stop!" She pleaded.

Zane lets go of Lucia, faces her, and says, "we can do this together. If you stick to the plan I have in mind, it'll be easier for us. Trust me," Zane is very confident and points at himself.

"We still need Clarisse. She's your ally, we both are. The value of our lives is equivalent to each other, one is just as important by the other," Lucia said firmly to Zane.

Zane shrugs and says, "it's her fault for being so rough. If she doesn't want to help, I'm fine with that."

"Now, follow me. Or I'll need to leave you as well, and I'll be alone on my journey which I don't totally mind happening," Zane added, frankly.

"Yes, I'll follow you," Lucia walks head down to the carriage and hops in sadly.

"That person truly does not deserve to have the title 'hero," the butler said.

"We'll continue watching his movement, this is how it is at the start, right? But I've never seen the reincarnated hero and his allies get mad that they separate," she said.

"If something serious arises, I'll report everything directly to King Act," the butler told Roùx.

"Do as you wish, you are not by any means held back by me. You're just assigned under me but don't directly serve me," Princess Roùx replied.
