Mason

Mason:

Morning comes and I’m all Packed to go. Mason comes into my room to help me move my stuff to the car.

we move very discreetly so we don’t wake others.

“You’re sure you’ve made-up your mind about this?”

“I’m sure brother, it’s something I have to do.”

“so you are going to disappear fully this time?”

“that's the plan”

“I suppose you’ll be changing your numbers and your phones”

“I will I don’t want anybody to be able to track me”

“And I suppose you won’t give me your new number”

“I’d love to brother, but if I do that then mum and dad will definitely know my whereabouts.”

“I can’t say I agree with this, he just got back, it hasn’t been one week and you’re leaving again.”

“I’m sorry, I have to put my mental health first.”

I stand next to Mason’s car as he lifts my luggage and puts them into the trunk.

“You sure you packed everything?”

“I took the important things I might need”

“Why does the luggage seem so light?”

“Honestly, I didn’t take much with me. I’ll kill every memory from my past life and start a new one.”

“So this is the last time I’ll see you?”

 “Might be”

“tears ran down my face as I looked into Masons sad eyes. I’m not ready to go but I know I can’t stay either.”

“get in, let's go”

I turn around and opened the door to the passenger seat, before getting in, I take one last look at the house. I start sobbing as the car zooms off to the airport.

Through the mirror, I see tears rolling out of Masons eyes. This makes me cry even more.

After half an hour, we arrive at the airport. Mason offers to lift my bags for me but I refuse.

“You have to go now, I’ll be fine.”

 “you swear?”

“I don’t really know, I’ll try to be fine”

“why do you even have to leave? this makes no sense.”

 “it does to me”

He steps out of the car and embraces me. He hugs me so tight that my luggage falls to the ground. I wrap my hands tight around him as my tears wets the collar of his shirt.

“Please don’t do this, you just can’t. I don’t want you to”

He cries in a way that shatters my heart. Unable to handle the pain, I push him away

“You have to go now, you have to go before anyone notices I’m gone”

“What do I tell them? How do I tell them that you vanished into thin air and I do not know your location”

“I left notes in my room, I- I left notes for everyone. I said my goodbyes already.”

“Please, Ruby. Think about your family, we’re going to be heartbroken; I’m already heart broken”

“I’m sorry, I have to go.”

I pick up my bags and run into the airport

“Don’t follow me, please don’t follow me brother. Just go home.”

I take a look at Mason’s face as I run, it’s the face of a heartbroken man. I wish I didn’t have to do this to my brother but I don’t have a choice.

I run till he’s eventually out of sight. my eyes are swollen as a result of the tears, I wipe my face with the back of my hand and take a stop.

Where I was going to go never occurred to me, I made the plan to disappear but I don’t even know where I’m disappearing to.

“Where do I go? where do I hide?”

A seat comes into my vision and I just sit there, crying my heart out.

My phone vibrates continuously, I don’t feel like picking up but it’s been ringing for almost an hour. When I check; there are over a hundred messages from Layla and Marcus.

“I haven’t really given Marcus any attention since I came back, I guess I’ll never see him again.”

Proceeding with my plan, I open my phone and take the sims out, throwing them on the floor

“Alright, I’m just going to pick a random place and travel to, an unpopular location.”

I get off my seat and lift my bags, making my way to the tickets area.

Accidentally, I bump into a man and lose my footing, right before I fall he catches me by the hand

“Hi”

I immediately recognize the voice and the person as well

“Alpha Logan?”

“We’ve run into each other three days in a row, still think it’s a coincidence?”

Immediately I become annoyed and snap at him.

“No I don’t think it’s a coincidence, you are following me around aren't you?”

“What? no. I’d never do something like that”

“Then how do you keep appearing everywhere I go?”

 “Like I said, fate.”

“If by fate, you mean following me around; then sure it’s fate.”

My irritation becomes too visible and he notices.

“are you so pissed? Did I offend you somehow?”

“Why did you have to be here, at this time. It’s not mere coincidence.”

“I swear miss Reid, I don’t follow you around.”

“What are you doing here then?”

“Remember what I told you about these shoes yesterday?”

 “what shoes?”

“The ones I bought at the mall”

“you said you needed them for a business trip outside of tow…. Oh, you must be going on the trip.”

“That’s right, my flight is scheduled for 8:00”

Suddenly, I am overcome by shame and all my courage disappears

“I’m so sorry for how I talked to you, I’m just in a really bad mood.”

It immediately occurs to me that he has been holding my hand the hold time. I clear my throat suggestively and he let’s go of my hand.

“What caused you to be in such a bad mood?”

“I don’t want to talk about it”

“Next question, why are you running away from home,Ruby?”

My eyes widen, I have been figured out.
