3~ A Sight

Steven's POV

"Why are you back so early?" Marenda asked immediately I walked into the penthouse; her arms were crossed on her chest, pushing her D cupped sized breasts up.

She had come back after I agreed to meet up with Naomi and was even the one who picked out my choice of outfit for the meetup, delaying me by a few minutes for some intense makeout session.

"The dinner date didn't go well," I replied.

"What happened?" The harshness of my reply didn't bother her.

"See, Marenda. I can't do it, I can't marry someone I don't love." I tugged on the root of my hairs in frustration. "You are the one I want, why can't you see that?"

"I love you too, why can't you also see that?" She questioned with her hands flailing by her side. "And if you can't do this little thing for our future, then forget about me."

This time she didn't wait for me to respond before sashaying out of the room.

The ringtone of my phone stopped me from chasing after her; a peek at the screen revealed the caller's identity to be my dad.

"Hello, father!"

"Whether you like it or not this marriage is still on," my father's voice boomed out, he didn't care for pleasantries. "And be prepared because you are getting married to Naomi on Saturday!" He continued like he didn't just drop a bombshell on me.

"What?" This could not be happening. "Father, I can't. Saturday is just three days away."

"Steven, this deal is beneficial for our company and you won't mess it up for me." His voice steeled, "if only you had paid more attention to the company business style, you would have understood the essence of this deal."

"What deal, father?" I yelled over the phone. "I can't. Why do you care so much about your business than you do for me?"

"Everything I do is for you, Steven," his tone softened but I wasn't fooled by that. "You will soon understand."

"Tomorrow, some set of suits would be sent to your penthouse, choose the one you want. Don't mess things up."

A click after his last words signified the end of the call, as usual. He has always done things according to his own way, never caring for new suggestions; he was as inflexible as the pole in a strip club, one of the reasons that led to his divorce with my mother.

Now I was going into a loveless marriage and it was all because of one person - Naomi. She would regret ever saying yes to this, I intended to make sure of that.

I placed my palm on my forehead whilst in a deep thought. Never in my life had I thought of an arranged marriage before, talkless of taking part in it. I tapped my feet on the floor, my eyes felt heavy and my brain couldn't think of any plan.

Marenda was also another pain, how can she want me to marry someone else when she knows how I felt about her? I couldn't comprehend the situation at hand as I thought of numerous ways of calling the wedding off.

My mind drift to me confrontation with Naomi, the thought of her replying me riled me up, she was a rude spoilt rich brat. I'm such she must be one of those girls who has seen a picture on me in a magazine and fell in love, definitely one of the reason she must have agreed to marrying me so quick.

But at the same time, I doubted because of the fierceness in her voice and how she said to call the wedding off.

She must definitely have a boyfriend; the idea of that struck through my mind and I grinned. There is a chance that she has one and if we both find a way to sabotage the wedding, then it's a win win situation for us.

I picked up my phone from my bed and dialled Duncan's number; Duncan is my private investigator, he'd definitely get Naomi number for me.

I jubriliate for a success ahead. After some minutes, Duncan sent me a text.

It was a message about Naomi biography. I scrolled through, I didn't see anything like relationship status involved.

I hummed, she must be one of those who kept their relationship status private, I'm sure she must be dating a low class man for her to not brag about him. Such a shame!

I clicked my tongue as i dialled Duncan's number. "I want you to set a date for the both of us," I said firmly, ending the call before he could say another word.

I prepare ahead for my meeting with Ms Raymond. I go through my wardrobe looking for a comfortable outfit to wear.

Naomi POV

I sat down at the table close to the window patiently waiting for whoever it was that texted me earlier to meet in this restaurant.

I didn't like the feeling I had in my gut, I wanted to get over this conversation soon. I wondered who wanted to see me. I was deep in my thoughts until I saw a particular figure walking towards my table.

My eyes met with his and somehow my heart beat raced in a way I couldn't understand. Dressed in a jean overall and a canvas, he looked effortlessly handsome.

I asked myself a question within me, why was he coming to my table? I watched his steps while he made his move towards my table and when he did, the smell of his cologne thrilled my nostrils. What a magnificent smell.

"Naomi Raymond," The way Steven has called my name was different unlike our first meeting. It was firm and friendly.

"Steven Madagascar," I retorted.

He took a seat opposite me and I raised my brows with curiousity. Was he the one that sent me that text?

"I'm glad you are here," Steven stated before ushering for me to use the menu on the table.

"I am not here to eat, and were you the one that sent me a text?" I asked not glancing at him.

"No and yes. No to the fact that I didn't send the the text and yes to the fact my private investigator did that on my behalf."

"And there is no need to rush anything," I was shocked by the tone Steven used on me. Unlike our first meet, he wasn't arrogant or rude.

I felt within me he had ulterior motives but I didn't want to jump into conclusion so quick. "Why did you send me or why did your private investigator send me that text?" I asked wanting to get over with things.

He grinned, clasped his fingers before he spoke, "I don't want to marry you and neither do you right?" He asked out of the blue catching me of guard.

Yes I didn't want to marry him but at the same time I have to.

"So I have come up with a way to call off the wedding which is in three days time." He lamented.

"What--" I was cut off by him. "You have a boyfriend who I'm sure you love and I also have a girlfriend, how about we don't turn up for our wedding or you don't turn up for the wedding and that way it's over!" Steven narrated and i shook my head.

How can someone talk without thinking? "Why don't you not show up for the wedding instead?" I retorted.

"For you this wedding might not mean anything but for me, it means a lot considering the welfare of my family matter, so I'm done talking to you," I stood up from my seat.

As I was about to leave, Steven word made me halt, "Desperate bitch! You will surely regret going into something that would cause you pain," He spat out.

I held a fistful of my dress tightly, forcing myself not to react to him, after calming myself, I walked out.
