CHAPTER FIVE

I flick my eyes from my plate to my dad. I have half eaten my food. I don't have the courage to start the topic again. But I just can't sit here and let this happen. He knows. I'm not strong enough to fall in love again. I won't find love. It's becoming fussy.

Batting my lashes, I look at my father. He's eating his meal, only the sound of cutlery echoes in the dining room.

"Dad!" I start. I want his full attention. A little part of me is positive, just a little.

He holds out his index finger. His gaze is down at the plate as he cuts through the streak, "Finish your food, princess. You should eat properly. Every bride wants to look beautiful on her wedding day, " His gaze is still resting on his food.

                That's f***** crazy!

"I don't want this, Dad. Mom would have understood me better than you," I snap regretting. I can't take my words back.

"True! Your mom isn't here. I'm your father. I will try to give you everything." His eyes lifted, making me feel more embarrassed. Yeap! I'm the spoiled kid of my father. I feel sadness flashing in his eyes as dad pulls his guards down. I'm a horrible daughter but I don't know him, most important! I don't love him.

I push the plate away in an aggravating way. I don't look back at my father as I draw myself on my feet and whirl to leave the room.

"Sarah!" I pause in my footsteps but I don't turn to look at him, " I'm getting old. I want someone to love you when the time comes. I won't be part of your life. You have a long life ahead of you. "

"I'm enough for myself," I mutter.

"No. You're Not. " My breathing is shallow, "You can say no." My lips begin to curl up, "Over my death." He finishes his sentence calmly and returns to his food.

His words are piercing like a knife, leaving a deep cut on my heart. Tears start to burn in my eyes. I take the stairs, first, my pace is slow, then I rush away from my room, to near that room my mother used to spend time with me.

I yank the door open and my weepy eyes rest on my mother's pictures. I'm still clenching the doorknob. I walk into the room and sit on the edge of the old bed. The old things of my mother are shifted to this room. Dad rarely comes here.

I keep looking at her picture until my eyes turn heavy with sleep.

GHOST

His feet are lighter than air as he strides toward her, making no noise, not even by mistake. His feet aren't touching the floor. He's floating in the air, just an inch above.

A ghostly smile plays on his handsome face as he glances down at her, sleeping in an awkward way. His eyes are still roaming on her body, looking for a sign of injury.

Fury burns in his eyes as he recalls her surroundings with the fire. His suit is so dark that he easily bends in the dark.

He shoves one hand out of his pocket. He looks like the most gorgeous man. But he's something else. Everyone is scared of him.

He wants to touch her. But he doesn't. His anger makes the earth shake a bit. He focuses on her calm face. He couldn't gain that calmness. He's burning in vengeance. He's waiting for the right time to come. He couldn't change. What has already been decided?

He raises his finger in the air. Her body begins to move with his finger's motion. He lifts her body in the air and reclines her head down on the fluffy pillow.

She doesn't move and continues to sleep calmly.

With another swipe of his finger, a blanket covers her body. His feet carry him closer to her. His face blanks as he bends down.

He can hear her soft breathing, her blood pumping heart - A heart that is filled with love for him.

"Soon! You're going to be......." He smirks, stopping mid-sentence, "You are not mine, baby. " His smile doesn't disappear. Indeed, it deepens.

She's still sleeping as nothing is happening around her. He stares at her before settling himself in the chair near the desk.

            Only looking at her!

His hands tighten into fists as his eyes flash fire.
