Angela could feel her adrenaline pumping. She couldn't wait to get her hands on Esmeralda's diary. Leonardo was correct; Esmeralda's diary would provide answers to all of their questions. She'd gone through every drawer and cupboard in the pink room, but the diary was nowhere to be found. She decided to visit the orchards after an hour of futile investigation. "Esmeralda, where did you put it?" She said quietly as the cold wind touched her cheek. She was standing beneath the fruitful trees, looking up at the pink room, with a portion of the window open. She was reminded of Lara's pale face as she gazed at Esmeralda's pink room. Was she capable of assassinating Esmeralda? Angela pondered. But the way she reacted to Esmeralda was both meek and fearful. Esmeralda frightened her. And Leonardo's conviction that Esmeralda had been murdered blew up everything, including her thoughts. The sound of the running water from the faucet filled the air late that night. Everyone was in their room as Angela washed her bleeding finger, cut by the razor-sharp knife she found in the cupboard drawer in the pink room. Angela wondered what that knife was doing in the drawer. Although it was only 4 inches long, its sharpness was capable of killing. What are you doing in the cupboard? Angela pondered. She then placed the knife on the table and stared at it for a while."Someone was keeping you inside the room for a purpose," Angela concluded. "You’re a kitchen knife and you should stay here in the kitchen and not in the drawer of a young lady."The next day, early in the morning, Angela was the first in the kitchen. The art exhibit was attended by everyone in Vera Mansion. Mrs. Vera was in her golden yellow straight-cut gown. She looked stunning in it, even at her age. And Mrs. Gale was happy in her navy-blue dress. The atmosphere of the mansion was a bit gay. Leonardo was acting normal lately. Only Lara was bragging every day about Leonardo’s distance from her. It was already seven in the morning, and at ten o’clock was the event’s opening. Lara was on the phone with Fredrick, who was asking her to go ahead with the rest. They drove home in silence, and Angela was unable to discuss what caused Leonardo to become enraged and pull them from the venue. She wasn't in the right place to inquire as to what had occurred. The path up the cliff was steep and rocky beneath the dense forest and bushes. The unpassed path was also dangerous for Leonardo, who was blind. He was determined, however, to touch the ground where Esmeralda had died a long time ago. "It's too difficult to pursue the location, Leonardo," but Leonardo was not returning. Leonardo remained silent after hearing Angela's confession. "How come you hit him with a rock?" "He wanted to rape me," Angela recalled, shaking her head. Leonardo gritted his teeth as he listened to Angela's story. She was certain she had killed Fredrick, but she needed to be certain. So, she asked Leonardo for permission to return to the cliff. But Leonardo had decided to accompany her. The ground where Fredrick was bloodily lying was wet from the rain, and he was nowhere to be found. Angela was tortured by not knowing what happened to Fredrick. Did he survive, or was he discovered and brought to a hospital? She reflected. They did not stay on the cliff for long. Angela was too nervous, so Leonardo let her go to her room early. But Angela couldn't sleep. She spent the entire afternoon calling all of the hospitals in the city using the directory, but she couldn't find Fredrick. And they still don't know what happened to him the next day.
