Take my hand

 Torak

Glaring at her, I wondered how I got myself entangled with such a stubborn ass like her. I was in a bad mood and didn't need any disturbance, but here she was disrupting every form of silence I needed.

I slumped back in my seat, letting her have her way. All I need is her statement, and once I lay my hands on it, she's out of my life forever.

I couldn't believe I was admiring her curves moments ago. Imagine how it will feel to be on top of her, but the shiver I got the moment we touched sent off a warning alarm that she was definitely dangerous. I can never forget the last time I had that feeling; the memories will forever remain in my heart to remind me how dangerous that path was.

It's just tonight, and she's gone. If our paths don't cross, we will remain strangers.

Trust and love will never be on my agenda, and probably until I vanish from this world.

Even though Tasha and I were an item, she knows I wasn't in love with her and that I hang out with her because she's a good companion and knows her place. Unlike those ladies that will do anything to have me for themselves, once I noticed such an attitude from my women, I avoided them at all costs. And the fact that Tasha is very great in bed, which is the best qualification any of my women must have.

The bitch continued with her singing, and I must admit, even though I was harsh and grumpy, she has a nice voice, which helped relax my nerves a little.

"We're here." My chauffeur announced, stopping the car in front of a four-star hotel, but instead of stepping out, she was busy looking around to confirm if she was at the right place, but I guess she had little to confirm because the place was already filled up by a crowd of people, and most of them were from the media room.

"What am I seeing?" She suddenly asked the most ridiculous question I've ever heard, making me wonder if she had gone blind, but if that's the case, I felt obligated to do her the favor of explaining, "In front of us is a large crowd of people, mostly paparazzi with their cameras taking pictures."

" Shut up! " She hissed loudly, cutting me off before I could retort: "She's already outside, hurriedly making her way towards the hotel." I snorted inwardly. This is the work of so-called love. She probably can't wait to be in the arms of her darling boyfriend. Well, who cares? All I need is her statement and I'm out of here before I get recognized, but I guess I don't have to worry about that, since the people here are mostly low-level staff and my picture has never been on any media platforms, even if it were to appear that my face was never exposed.

Stubborn ass was busy staring at the building with her eyes and mouth wide open. What a local chicken this place is; it's nothing compared to my bathroom back home, and she is fascinated. How will she react if she is opportune enough to visit my house? Unfortunately, I will never get to see her reaction.

After sometime, she turned towards me with a gloomy face, but my phone rang at that moment; I looked at the caller ID and it was my grumpy old man again, so I answered with a stern voice. "What now?".

"Even though I want to see your fiance, I don't have all the time in the world; don't you run late?" He screamed into the phone. Thank goodness I saw this coming; if not, what would have become of Torak Donovan? I hissed, "I'm caught up in some situations."

"Then hurry up." He ordered.

"Fine!" she heaved, disconnecting the call, irritated. I tried to imagine the look on his face when he discovered I was alone. I just pray he hasn't gone around blabbing to his friends about my imaginary fiancee. Turning around, her stubborn ass slammed into my chest. She looked up and jerked away at once as if I were poisonous, but I didn't miss that electrical shock again. I narrowed my eyes at her suspiciously and asked, "Is she also feeling it?"

"Sorry," she said, but I could feel the dark clouds above her head. "I didn't expect you to turn at that moment." I stared hard at her for a while, not really understanding her. Is she this way because she slammed into my chest or because she couldn't get to her boyfriend? I couldn't tell, but something was off with her; she didn't seem to be the same person I came here with. "Where's your sweetheart?" Did he run off with another woman? "Judging from your look, I must be right; you look like a rusted chicken." I said I was laughing, okay, I never meant to taunt her, but guys, you should have seen her expression; she was singing "someone to love" by Shen Ward, and now I think she should be singing "Why do I love you?" by Westlife.

She cast a murderous glare at me and said, "Keep your toxic tongue to yourself before I pull it out for you." She hissed, looking away and blinking severally. "Okay, maybe I went too far." "I shouldn't have said that." "I'm sorry." I didn't say those words; they just rolled out on their own.

"Are you always this stupid, or do you especially want to piss me off today?" "Did your mom not teach you when to keep your mouth shut?" She said it with bloody eyes.

Okay, no woman born has ever talked to me like that. I can feel my demons threatening to come out, but those eyes that were filled with mischief a moment ago were now soulless, and somehow I could feel her sadness.

I need to get her out of my life before she figures it out. "Look, ma'am, I think you should give me your statement so I can get the hell out of this place." I said sternly.

"You can continue to wait for your sugarplum." She was clenching her fist, and her shoulders were trembling. I followed her line of sight only to see a couple kissing on the billboard; their surroundings seemed familiar to me. I looked around, and true to my instincts, the couple were surrounded by the press with their hands entwined as they showed off their rings.

But that's not all the lady was a copy of; the only difference was their hair; while stubborn asses have brown, bouncing curly hair, which was one thing that made them look breathtaking, the other lady has straight black hair.

"Are you guys..." I wanted to ask if they were twins, but stubborn Asa was already making her way towards the couple. This is bad! She will only get herself into trouble; this is no way of handling dickheads like him. I already knew the guy was her target, or, should I say, the two people who played her. From their expressions, the guy flinched on seeing her, but the lady had a mocking smirk on her face. This was the type of drama I had been avoiding in my life.

A strong punch met his jaw, followed by another. Her sister acted scared, but wonder woman isn't even close to being done, yet she threw the guy over her shoulder and slammed him hard on the floor face down.

"Oouch!" I screeched, and my hand subconsciously flew to my groin, covering my brother protectively. I broke out in a cold sweat.

"Wow, Torak, count yourself lucky; that guy will never be able to satisfy his fiancee again." I quickly stood upright when I saw her approaching with her hands covering her mouth. Why is she crying when she was super cool just now?

I opened the door for her before joining her. "Drive," I ordered Caleb, with no destination in mind. She sat beside him, trembling, her hand muffling her cries: "You should be strong and pay them back in their own coin; make them regret hurting you." I gently advised. Suddenly she raised her head, wiped all the tears from her face, and gave me an unwavering "don't be stupid" gaze that sent goosebumps up my spine. "You," I choked, "weren't crying?" I asked in this disbelief, and she sneered and scratched her face up in disgust: "Crying over an idiot?" "They're not worth it," she scoffed. "Who was my actor?" "Did you get carried away and find me pitiful?" "Just wait; tonight's headline will be very interesting, Jeffrey Jones." "He got trashed by a wonder woman." "I will be popular after today, but I think I have no family; my father will surely disown me."

I opened and closed my mouth like a goldfish, unable to find a word to answer her; she's really crazy, and I'm even crazier because she's still in my car, and we are supposed to be saying our goodbyes.

"You are right." "I also want to get back at him and my family, but I'm nothing compared to my sister; I don't have her good looks; I'm jobless and broke; I don't have a boyfriend who's building me a hospital; nor am I as intelligent as stupid Leah, so how am I supposed to get my revenge?"

She whined, and the next thing, I jumped in like a headless chicken. "Take my hand, and I will make your dreams come true." Again, I didn't say those words. What's happening to my brain tonight?

She stared hard at me, trying to comprehend what I had just said. I guess she thought I was certainly bluffing, but an idea crossed my mind, and I spat it out before processing it.

"Act as my girlfriend tonight, and I'll pay you two hundred thousand dollars." I saw her mouth fly open as she asked, startled. "Two hundred thousand dollars just to be a fake date for only tonight?" She asks in disbelief.

" Yes." I answered, knowing my offer was too tempting to be turned down, but she suddenly started to laugh, making me wonder which part of my statement was funny. "Who do you think you are, crazy Torak Donovan or handsome Ryan Donovan?" Her questions made me realize I was yet to introduce myself, but why would I be the crazy one and that bastard handsome? She really does have poor taste—no wonder she got involved with such an a**hole.
